  1. And other countries wonder we Americans are overweight. You eat food like this and you get full and there is a metric ton of it left to eat for days.

  2. Well done to Victoria and Josh. Tater tot casserole is more of a Wisconsin/Minnesota thing, I think. I grew up in Michigan and I'd only ever had it when visiting family in WI.

  3. This was so wholesome and an absolute pleasure to watch. I really enjoyed watching the Lady of the House welcome strangers ( albeit famous ones) into her home and I loved the fact that they have a family meal and itd an important tradition. That was just so pure and wholesome. ❤❤❤

  4. Ohioan here- The family did a really great job in representing midwestern values and cuisine here. Nuclear, working class families are the norm, and the food really represents that: hearty, inexpensive meals that are able to be eaten as leftovers and easily made in large quantities for the next day are staples for people who may not have the time to cook every day. It speaks to the friendly and communal nature of midwestern culture as well. The dishes served are mostly for potlucks, where everyone brings a dish and you have a little bit of everything.

  5. I'm from Michigan, and zero of these foods (besides meatloaf) are anywhere near what I consider "comfort foods". None of them. It mostly looked gross. I have never heard of that disgusting ramen noodle salad with the nuts and seeds. 🤮 Did not represent the Midwest very well AT ALL. Just NO! That they think that is what Midwestern food is like is so incredibly sad.

  6. Not a true Midwest family. Thats Detroit. Dead giveaway was when they called it a tator tot casserole. Its a tater tots hotdish! And also a Midwesterner that hasn't ever had it? SMH. They need to come to Minnesota for some real Midwest food.

Casserole… that's like going to going to Nashville and saying I want spicy chicken. No! Bad! Its Hot Chicken.
