What a weird situation.
There’s no fool like an old fool.
Hilarious 🍿 😂👍
Upvote if you read "My cat likes to hide in boxes" as a kid.
Communication by the deputies on scene and radio traffic sounded exceptionally good. Props to this agency and personnel.
Only in US cul-de-sacs are the size of a small city. Also I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't a stock sound of led pipe hitting the ground edited in.
The officer shot him three times + asked him to put his hands up. What?!
Officer you had other options , he cleary was drunk
I bet they found a small piece of pvc laying in the ditch and claimed it was his
10 months on duty? He handled himself incredibly well.
You never know what people will do on a traffic stop. Wild.
No need to describe what we can see
BWCs are where it’s at. The camera doesn’t lie, and should always be the officer’s best friend!
You could see the guy putting something in his back pocket right after he got out of his truck. I’m sure the officer noticed that as well and if it had been me I would have been wondering if it was a gun he was hiding or a knife. Officer made the only choice he could.
Uncle Dave is WASTED! 🥃🍺🍹🍷🍸
I think all officers should have a body cam not only for the suspect but for themselves as well
Stop video at 7:59 you can see pipe in his back pocket
Chapman was up to something. I am glad the officer is OK. Remember Officer Hare? "I need help, man" was the same trap the perp used to approach and murder him. The better man lived today.
The thing that pisses me off about cops shooting people with knives and pipes is that if I did that to protect myself I would be arrested and charged with murder. There is a different standard of justice for the police.
Give cop a raise!
My lord, I’ve refused to drive after drinking a glass of wine 5 hours earlier and this guy thinks he is ok and he ain’t even stand up
Chapman 😂
Some people in the comments saying maybe the man is confused because his sugar level is low.
How do you expect the officer to assess that???? We have the benefit of hindsight video, but when you are actually in the moment faced with possible threat you do your best to assess, however, you give priority to your life.
I cannot understand how some people get more stupid as thy get older. How did he manage to make it this far?
This man is insanely drunk, CLEARLY!!!!
That is what scares me – a guy who ignores commands and keeps coming at you. You don’t know what he’s got, so if you delete him and he’s unarmed, you’re screwed. But if he is fast and good and has a knife or gun, you could also be REALLY screwed.
Blessings
Looks like suicide by cop. God only knows what he was going through to..
love how a few brass pills make em act right 😀 that squeal of defeat!
Tax dollars 💸 saved
Clown show
So sad. The man was asking for help. If he had only complied to the officer’s commands he would be alive today. There was something wrong with him.
If you look at video of police in many other countries…their Law Enforcement routinely disarms suspects who have knives, swords, and many other weapons without shooting them. This coward cop killed a 65yr old guy who was only armed with a lead pipe. Smh.
Why is American Law Enforcement so Broke back and nellie-necked?
Saved taxpayers 47k a year to house & feed him & officer wasn't physically hurt is a plus. Hope cop is OK mentally.
He got the help he wanted, it was a good decision!
This cop has great situational awareness
Great video, you caught nothing.
You can tell he had mental issues, You hear him say I need help the gentlemen was no harm to the police officer, The police officers need more training in older citizens for their issues. I have seen videos showing police officers mistreat the elder and people with disabilites. RIP Chappy
How much do officers have to endure. It’s awful how quickly they have to decide what is the best thing to do at the time. I’m happy that nothing happened to the officer. Rip
What a coward cop this is so sad.
What is up with these "suicide by cop" events?
Horrible cops!!!!
Quite a difference in reactions between a white dude with a pipe and a darker dude with a gun or knife who gets the same treatment and then resulting in community uproar, Congress kneeling in solidarity and Al Sharpton parading around like an angry cock spewing "systemic racism" tropes.
No body cam —- just cops narrative – DONT BELIEVE. SHOTS fired yet no body cam? Right. MURDERERS
Saying the decision saved his life is a bit ridiculous though. The old drunk man had a piece of pipe, not an AK 47
Officer protect your Mental.Health too. What a night. You had to shoot him. He had a knife. Bless you baby. Your valued so much. Do not feel quilt. You werein a terrible Situation. You gave him commands. But he did not listen. Bless you honey.

The accused may not understand the command. The officer needs to instruct him to lie down on the ground. [You lay down your book so you can lie down and take a nap.]
Why did the cop not have bodycam? The driver of the suv looked frail, unsteady on his feet which could be from intoxication or a medical condition and did ask the officer for help. I think due to his inexperience the Officer overreacted and did not correctly assess the situation . Also if the officer was the one who went over to search the van he was a burly guy and could have easily overpowered the driver. This inexperienced cop should not have been on his own and if he had a colleague with him this death could have been avoided. I have complete respect for the police dept but in this situation mistakes were made. RIP to the driver and 🙏🙏s to him and the officer.
67 years to pull a stunt like this. What a bozo 😂
