Yasiel Puig got traded mid game but wasn’t taken out, he made a great throw to prevent a run from scoring and even fought the pirates with the reds while not even being a red
can’t remember who the player was but seattle traded with the rangers(i think) while they were doing bp, and the player traded hit a home run for the mariners the same day edit: it was houston and the red sox, the player was christian vazquez. traded from the sox to the stros and hit a home run for the stros that won the game
I assume it is because they don't want them having strategy or signs to take elsewhere or they throw a game due to helping a new teams record but if they don't know they're traded until after the game then no harm no foul.
So what the player traded was the pitcher on the mound…. with NOBODY warming up at the time….. would they just call time pull a pitcher off the bench just to give extra time for a different pitcher to warm up
Fun Fact – In 2022 Javi Baez was traded to the Mets, I can't remember the date of the trade or games, but the Mets ended up playing out the remainder of a previously rained out game later that season (after the trade), and all the stats from that finished game go to the original start date. So somewhere in some statistic, Javi Baez is credited for playing for 2 different teams in 2 different states playing at the same time on the same day.
Im confused just reading my own comment so hypothetical dates-
Javi played for the Cubs May 1st. Mets postponed a game in the 4th inning on May 1st. Javi is traded to the mets June 1st. Mets continue game in the 4th inning on August 1st.
Stat page – Javi played in games for the Mets and Cubs on May 1st.
At some point in the past (you can look it up) a MLB player was traded from Team A to Team B, IN THE INTERMISSION OF A DOUBLE-HEADER between Team A and Team B! Just gather his stuff, move over to the other dressing room, get a new uniform, and go out to play on the other side…
they should wait until the end of the games to finalize. they are robbing them of their stats

Joel Youngblood played for two different teams, on the same day, Expos and Reds, due to a trade. 🤓
Puig was traded to the Indians in the middle of a brawl.

Unless the trade involves the team they are currently playing, it’s dumb to have to take them out of the game. Or if the game hasn’t started yet.
I vaguely remember an NBA player finding out he got traded mid-game.
I wonder how often this happens .
I’m gonna miss arraez as a marlins fan
What was everyone giggling about? 😅
I was at a Reds game and they traded my favorite player mid-game
Roadrunners
I was at the game when they got traded 😂😂
I was at the travs game they got traded lol. 8-0 first inning
Harrison Barnes has competition on the saddest trade announcement 💀
Poor guys

You can't forget the day Yasiel Puig got traded, that fight was insane 😂
shame to see those guys leave the system, both cool guys to watch back in their single A days
That's life in the big league
“Hey man, we don’t want you anymore, get outta here,”
Not the same but in 1922 (I had to look it up) a Cardinal player was traded between games of a doublehitter.
I didn’t know that What was traded.

Jose Canseco was on deck for the A’s when he was pulled after being traded to the Redsox

That's a stupid deal, but I can see why, they don't want an injured player. You just never know, shit happens..
Be funny to get traded while playing the team you againts
It makes zero sense why they would do this during the game🤔
When the call comes in to move up, a player is immediately off the roster. Those 2 were packing their bags and jumping on a plane asap
This is some bullshit!! Whatever happened to loyalty to your team and teammates???
That is crazy that they got traded in the middle of the game!!!
