  1. Yasiel Puig got traded mid game but wasn’t taken out, he made a great throw to prevent a run from scoring and even fought the pirates with the reds while not even being a red

  2. can’t remember who the player was but seattle traded with the rangers(i think) while they were doing bp, and the player traded hit a home run for the mariners the same day
edit: it was houston and the red sox, the player was christian vazquez. traded from the sox to the stros and hit a home run for the stros that won the game

  3. I assume it is because they don't want them having strategy or signs to take elsewhere or they throw a game due to helping a new teams record but if they don't know they're traded until after the game then no harm no foul.

  4. So what the player traded was the pitcher on the mound…. with NOBODY warming up at the time….. would they just call time pull a pitcher off the bench just to give extra time for a different pitcher to warm up

  5. Fun Fact – In 2022 Javi Baez was traded to the Mets, I can't remember the date of the trade or games, but the Mets ended up playing out the remainder of a previously rained out game later that season (after the trade), and all the stats from that finished game go to the original start date. So somewhere in some statistic, Javi Baez is credited for playing for 2 different teams in 2 different states playing at the same time on the same day.

Im confused just reading my own comment so hypothetical dates-

Javi played for the Cubs May 1st.
Mets postponed a game in the 4th inning on May 1st.
Javi is traded to the mets June 1st.
Mets continue game in the 4th inning on August 1st.

Stat page – Javi played in games for the Mets and Cubs on May 1st.

  6. At some point in the past (you can look it up) a MLB player was traded from Team A to Team B, IN THE INTERMISSION OF A DOUBLE-HEADER between Team A and Team B! Just gather his stuff, move over to the other dressing room, get a new uniform, and go out to play on the other side…
