Boxing exercises like shadow boxing or heavy bag work are total body exercises that help balance and overall coordination. I believe that shadow boxing and heavy bag work are exercises that can be part of a Rehabilitation regiment. These exercises are used to help treat people with Parkinson’s.
I tend to use footwork and move around the bag as I am punching, left jab, right cross then a left upper cut then a few leg kicks and elbows
Great vid dude, I'm gunna try these tonight when I hit the gym
Thank you!
Question: gym i go to has the bag but no gloves. Do i absolutely have to have them?
Sir, what is your opinion on sparring for recreational purposes? Coaches usually insist on learning a lot before two trainees exchange punches.
Here's what I think. If You establish certain rules for sparring, they should be followed regardless of anyone's skill. An idiot will remain idiot independently of his level of boxing knowledge.
Personally, I'd like to spar just to overcome my fear of hitting and getting hit, to have fun, start moving (i really can't imagine anything in shadow boxing) and, of course, learn something.I'm 40, with more than 20 years of gym and, guess what, coaches are always focused on my lack of coordination and rigidity. Something that really can't change overnight. Thank You!
Found this today and used it at the gym. SOLID!
How to purchase this speed powder sir
Thanks!
Thanks for the tips, Tony. I been in the game for 10 years sparring pros and amatuers. Sometimes you spar too much so its nice to have feedback on training drills.
Kinda reminds me of my training when I was taking Kung Fu. The Mas would say after we warmed up – 25 front kicks with each leg to the bag then 10 push ups, then 25 side kicks with each leg to the bag then 10 push ups then 25 back fists with each hand to the back then 10 push ups then 25 front palm strikes with each hand to the back then 10 push up – now take a 15 min break and get ready for sparring and technique lessons! I was in great shape back then and could win fights just by running around and letting my opponent tire out! We did variations of this training like every workout 5 days a week.
n3 looks like classical Soviet Union style drill, similar to what Bivol doing on a heavy bag a lot. In Russian school we call it “layers” of attack. Jab – one/two – one/two/liver
love from indonesia
I really like these drills, thanks for sharing.
🔥🔥
Love your videos man !!!
Tony, "Mr. Click this video right here" Jefferies. Lol. You're a badass dude
I love Mr. Jeffries. I could watch his videos over and over just for his Brittish accent and the way he pronounces "box'in'. Maybe it's my own Brittish DNA/heritage. And that I've learned more technique and useful tools from his videos than all my boxing coaches of the past combined. Thank you Mr. Jeffries! Now I'm twice the badass I used to be?!
Great video from mr Jefferies
How many days per week is good for us to do these drills, and how many rounds for drills #2 and #3?
No waaaaaay! I'm rewatching Blacklist from the beginning with my mom and recognised @Tony_Jeffries in episode 9! Double checked on imdb and it really was you! 😆 coooool! Hahahaha
Love from India sir ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thanks Tony, I'm always up for more heavy bag drills! Love all of these man

Showing off my fine art (painting,)
I so like your encouraging style

We on behalf of all young farmers,
think you are a great example
Many thank you’s
Hey Tony
I recently almost got into a street fight with a man and I'm pretty shaken about it
I'm 16 and he was around 28 to 30
He wasn't much bigger than me but a little taller
I was on my bicycle and he was on his scooter, he wanted to go ahead of me but I couldn't give him space to.
This got heated quickly cause he was short tempered and asked me to pull over
He yelled and tried to hit me with his left hand and I blocked it with my right.
Idk if I was scared of the guy or the situation but I wanna learn to overcome that fear. I'm still pretty shaken.
Could u provide me some pointers on how to overcome that fear of fighting a grown man.
tony suggest some drills where i don't rip my bag 💀 (great video btw)
I am 52 years old and In am a stroke sufferer who's trying to regain my total and normal recovery.. The doctor advised me not to do heavy exercise because it could make my body condition worse… but it turns out that sitting around without doing anything actually makes my body's condition gets worse and worst.. Until I find this channel and begin to watch several videos.. At first I still had difficulty moving my right leg and arm normally.. but by watching several videos from this channel, I tried slowly and regularly from the very easy to difficult movement, and finally in approximately three months the condition of my right leg and hand are getting better and better, which was initially difficult to move, slowly returned to normal… Thanks a lot Mr. Tony Jeffries, your channel is very inspiring ❤❤❤
Thanks coach🥊 love from India 🇮🇳
Tony react to neeraj goyat indian boxer who challenged out Jake Paul and Jake Paul also responded that fight who will win your thoughts
3:24 blood sweat and tears, that s it.
Thanks Tony. 👍👍👍
I'm well into my 60s now, ex-military so wanted to maintain a high fitness level when I left the army many years ago. I consider myself as being physically fit still and very keen to stay that way. I attend a gym and part of my routine is 10 mins on the heavy bag, so for some time now I've been watching these videos from Tony. Mate, outstanding!! I'm not a boxer (wish like hell I was) but even the time spent on the bag is a gamechanger in terms of general day to day wellbeing. Videos like this help immensely and I apply as much of it as I can during my workout. Hey Tony, love ya man!!……inspirational without a doubt.
Hey Tony, I want to compete but I'm running into an issue. I am lifting once a week and doing some calisthenics on other days I am running every day and doing yoga but I can only get to my gym with a coach twice a week because the gym is 64 km away. I know I probably should do more than that if I am serious, but is this enough to even be competent? You know I'm not trying to be a world champion and mostly just trying to be able to protect myself. But I also want to look good when I do it and I don't mean like look good like abs I mean clean, solid hits. Got any advice or tips?
my favorite boxing teacher 👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Tony, i have a question.
I’ve learned a lot of things on the heavy bag en with pads but when it comes down to sparring, i simply forget the things i learn and do everything wrong.
Do you have tips for on how to use the things we learn on the heavy bag for example in to the sparring.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video
Sir would you consider making a full shadow boxing guide with basic footwork & head movements for being able to slip punches sort of in a series format? Like you did shadow boxing 101 I have learnt from you over the years but I haven't been able understand how combinations work the reason for the request is as there are no boxing gyms or MMA gyms in my vicinity
👍✊☝😘
What was the chance of my trainer actually teaching me the third drill just two days before your video. Great video!
