That cop is not a great cop/detective or whatever he is. Being rude is not only unprofessional, in impacts the whole point of the job. You're trying to get help from these witnesses but you come at them hostile out the gate so of course you're not going to get anything. It doesn't matter if you THINK they're guilty or not. Let's not forget, innocent until proven guilty. Don't go in treating everyone like an enemy and you might just get somewhere and solve your case without incident.
