This deal is very, very thin. Just political theatre for both the US and UK who needed something to show. This isn't a comprehensive FTA deal nor was it ever likely to be – they take years to negotiate. This just trims some tax off a few items. Fluff. UK also announced a deal with India yesterday, which had been talked about for years without fruition. And the EU have gone ahead with a deal with South America that had been in limbo for years. The world is scrambling to get Trump to reduce tariffs on goods from their country but they are also scrambling to do deals with each other to reduce US leverage.

I’m pretty sure the UK managed to sneak in their king as the new King of the US—probably somewhere between tea taxes and a clause about returning the Queen’s corgis.
