The hippie movement was nothing more than the total renunciation of Responsibility disguised as Responsibility. Overgrown spoiled children pretending to be serious and adult, taken to a grotesque extreme.
The original is still the best!
I'll say it again: Worst job in Starfleet is Transporter Chief.
You have to always know what is going on although there's no view screen in any transporter room ever shown, but the Captain often says something like:Transporter room, lock on to them and beam them aboard!
Scotty just once should say " beam who where? I'm in engineering, what are you talking about??

You know how trucks make warning noises when reversing or turning. Star Trek was there first. Whenever the Enterprise turns, there's always loud dramatic music!

Most trekkies hate this episode, but it was shot a few months after the 1967 'summer of love' in San francisco. With lines like 'well clap my hands and jump for joy, I got a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy' and hippie songs like 'Heading for the good land' with Spock playing a dimestore tamborine it's the oddball episode of TOS.
Uhura was on maternity leave having kirks baby.
KIRK: Persue and overtake
PICARD: Prepare tractor beam and engage.
SISKO: Fire Phasers and Photon torpedoes
The music in the episodes were phenomenal also! No one ever mentions how well it matches whatever scene is going on
