I'm recalling all those memes bashing USA for not having a high speed rail system. Initially i thought 'we don't rely on it like other countries.' Then I saw how long it takes to get from Chicago to Utah or California, by train. Also Chicago to New York. I figured there were no investors or entrepreneurs nope… just government mismanagement.

12 agencies? I went to my local council office and got all I needed to build a new building in one place. The only delay was the need to wait for a scheduled council meeting to officially authorise the project. All done and construction started within one month. That is the Australian way to do it. If you are building a major project like a multi-storey commercial building, it will take a bit longer but building a residence is relatively fast.

It's just amazing that the same sleazy corrupt characters that caused the CA wildfire due to their incompetence and corruption are the same people now overseeing the rebuilding.
