Adam Savage’s shop is almost unrecognizable since our video tour a decade ago. But in the last month it’s undergone its most …

  1. Out of curiosity, aside from the great youtube channel etc, what is your day to day bread and butter income generated from? Your workshop
Is incredible and probably houses 10 lifetimes of material so I assume you do other work etc to maintain the workshop and staff?

  2. Wonderful video, it is great to see you enjoying your space. I too have a workshop I live to enjoy. It is a maker shop of the wood variety but of course doubles and triples as an ameuter guitar studio and all around home do it shop. When I walk in I have such a feeling of well being! I sense that you may have a very similar experience when you enter your shop. Cease the tool, make the day!

  3. I come back to this every few months and watch it again. Something about seeing the completed version of something Adam's been working out for actual decades is so cathartic. This and the sortimo video actually. I've watched them both an embarrassing amount of times.

  4. I wish I had a space like that for all of my arts and crafts! I would rarely leave! I would finally have everything in one spot and wouldn't have to go tear the house apart looking for that one thing I need for a project. And I wouldn't be crafting out of boxes, bags and piles anymore.

  5. It's staggering to watch old movies and realize all these little parts that go into making them.

I could spend a decade browsing in that shop.

I was binging Mythbusters last night. Miss you guys.

The reboot was just an embarrassment. No one can top the Original Five.

And, damn right I capitalized it!

Saw Grant in the sea sick chair last night and found myself laughing while tears came too.

You guys were the best, and thank you for all the joy and knowledge you brought to my life.

  6. The only time I clean and organize is when my creative juices aren't flowing. Messy shop ideas working. Clean shop no idea what to do. I've tried pressing on but that usually ends badly and a complete waste of time. I start by sweeping the floor cleaning off one of my work benches. It doesn't matter where I put things just somewhere else. I usually start at the sanding station because it's the most dirty 😮. Move everything to the open work table. Clean and return items. Move to the right to the next work station (shape sanding) and repeat. I keep moving till the Ideas start to return and get back on the project, project's I'm engaged in. I have never completed a full shop make over at one time in 38 years of my marriage saver. Yes the secret to a great marriage is a pole barn. 😂

  7. Absolutely love this… People that don't 'need' a work space ( I call mine the Geek Room), will never understand the importance to those that do, and I am not talking about the practical application of having one either.

  8. This video makes me happy on so many levels. I am a shop geek and I just love how everything you need to make… Is in there. I totally get the excitement and enthusiasm when you add or reorganize you shop or garage. I watch this video every time I need to the inspiration to add anything to my garage! Thanks Mr. Savage!

  9. Very inspiring. Just bought a 3d printer and need to expand into a spare room used as storage, turning it into a workspace, paint area etc. Some great ideas in the video for material organization with work area balance. Thanks!

  10. This is wonderful! I have a question for you and anyone else, I just bought a new shop in South Carolina and after adding my tools to the existing tools I am officially overwhelmed and out of time after trying to build anything in the space. How would I go about finding someone to help me stay organized and clean up during the day? There doesn't seem to be enough time anymore for me to do it all myself.

  11. It's one thing not to use a blade guard on your table saw. Ill advised but very common. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE A RIVING KNIFE OR EVEN SPLITTERS YOU HAVE INSTALLED. That is just plain dangerous. There is a reason that it is illegal to sell a saw that does not have a riving knife. Lots of people watch you and love you (as do I). Set a better example while keeping yourself safe.

  12. I don't remember the last video that gave me so many goosebumps! The collection couldn't have gone to a better person. It's a museum within a workspace filled with what made movies so great.

  13. about the shoes 😂 Sachs related Nike shoes have been unobtainable in europe. I was happy to find out there is 'city'-model that is influenced by sachs but way cheaper. The best pair of urban sneakers for workshop ☝️
