The final comment by the Pope that 'we are all children of God' is true. All human beings are children of God. This statement does not mean all religions are equal or true, which is a position rejected by the Catholic Church as heresy.
i was raised in a non-strict religious environment, but I did take the steps through ccd, confirmation, and the like. having grown up and lived my own life, i cant really say its helpful or very accepting of god to hate gays and gay practices. the stereotype that openly being gay means being promiscuous and licentious seems like hatred without understanding the culture, which, if you think about it, is a lot like how bigotry against african americans was and still is. if god and all his followers decide that the stereotype is fact, it does nothing but create an excuse for hatred people dont particularly care for, and raising the later generations to believe that these practices are wrong in the first place only perpetuates the anger. i dont see why it should make sense that god tries to preach goodness and "loving thy neighbor" when you can just kinda ignore thy neighbor if they love the same sex. i dont think "hate the sin, not the sinner" is a good excuse because their kind of love and expression shouldn't be a sin. it could offend you, youre allowed to not like it. but that should be a personal thing, not a weapon to be wielded by religion.
i understand im kind of the super minority when it comes to these videos so if im expecting comments, im expecting hate. id like to end off saying that i would rather you save yourself the time and energy for confrontation and just use this as food for thought. something to consider. not bicker.
