ive been watching a lot of these type of reviews because I just bought a used Taylormade GAPR Mid which I suppose compares to the DHY I'm looking forward to hopefully replacing my hybrid with it.. I am so inconsistent with my hybrid and much more confident with my irons but I need something longer than my 5 iron.. hoping the GAPR mid does the trick! (couldn't afford to spring for a DHY just yet lol)
Hi Rick, what did you think of the stock shaft offering ?
Tested the udi and dhy a few days ago. Both were fun to hit but the dhy may have been the easiest club to hit I have ever hit.
Just picked up the 20 deg 3 iron UDI and absolutely love it! Perfect 235 club for me with a nice smooth rip 🔥👍🏼⛳️🙂
Would love to see you compare these to really old school type of driving irons like the Mizuno T-Zoid Fli-Hi or others!

I use last years DHY model and it’s a nice club to have sitting around. I’ll swap out one of my woods for it if I’m playing a tight course where I don’t want to hit driver on every hole.

You should compare them to other driving irons like the Srixon mk2 utility or callaway apex etc.

Why would I buy this over my adjustable 22 degree 4 hybrid?
I don’t get it? Is it simply for people who want the forgiveness and performance of a hybrid without the looks?
For reference, my Ping G430 4h numbers are almost identical to these. 135moh ball speed. 208 carry, but with a touch less spin. Usually about 3500 for me.
I would have loved to see the 4 DHY compare to the standard 4 iron.

Great video Rick! I use an old Adam’s 3 iron because it’s a big girl compared to my MP30 irons and it feels like a driving iron. It offers a ton of forgiveness, goes 225-230yds and I can keep it low on the windy days. Would love to give one of these a hit.

The PDHY looks like a great replacement for one of my hybrids. With my low swing speed my 4&5 hybrids go nearly the same distance, but if I switched one to a driving iron then I would at least get more versatility.

Id argue that "better" player doesnt matter as much as what clubhead speed you have in order to get the ball in the air.

I have the old P790 UDI 2 iron in my bag and love it. I grew up playing only irons and a driver in my bag (including an old 2 iron), ive tried 5 woods and hybrids over the years but can’t hit them consistently like irons (guess its what i learnt with) so i now play driver, 3 wood and then 2 iron and up.
I don’t understand why he needs a second channel. More clicks on a different channel means more money. Sad. He’s already rich. Why do this? Greed is a powerful thing.
Could also get a used set for 1/3 price.

I thought for a driving iron you might have tried some off a tee. I use a tee whenever I can and if I bought one of these, then off the tee is where I'd mostly be using it.
