  1. Is this video gonna help me bc I’m so miserable right now 😭😭 I already have dry eye, this Covid Santa brought me. I’ve had Covid 3 times now and it’s never been this bad

  2. the first symptom of my COVID infection was pink eye in October 2024. today in December 2024 i have recovered from covid except for dry eyes. every night my eyes get stuck shut and are very dry. my vision is fine otherwise. WHAT THE HECK. why is there no honesty and accountability from the US Government regarding this VIRUS?

  3. I developed swollen eyelids and sore eyes on day 5 of a bad bout of Covid which was for the fourth time. Eyelids were itchy and then later had burning, sore, cracked skin. I tried antihistamine, antihistamine eye drops, and antibiotic eye ointment with limited to no relief. Nicotine patches help the most along with manuka honey on eyelids for cracked skin. They are about 50% better. Its been 8 weeks since having covid. Discharge was clear tears until just over a week ago when it became excessive and sticky overnight, but not every night. Vision still is cloudy.waking in the night and in morning until i wash my eyes, face etc. The lids feel tight, eyes sometimes (not always) tender to touch, still a little itchy, eyes more red in mornings. Use heat on them twice a day and Iid cleansing. Started back with antihistamine drops a week ago. Its hard to manage dsy this day to day. Hoping itll continue to improve.

  4. Just as i was recovering from covid (for the 4th time), about day 7, my eyelids swelled. Ive had dry painful eyes, ongoing swelling and both itching and flakey (or burnt looking) skin. Itching lessened then burning started always with swelling. Tried antibiotic eye ointment which was somewhat helpful temporarily. Also antihistamine both drops and then oral. Its been a month so far. I was encouraged to read stories of others who have been through this. Im wondering has anyone got better? I am grateful to the eye doctor who takes the time to monitor eyes which has been reassuring that i'm not having serious effects. I hope this rough time gets better.

  5. After I had Covid and later the vaccine, I started having horrible dry eye. I’ve always had big eyes, but at my annual my doctor noticed that she thought they were bigger than usual. Fast forward- I had increased scleral show and both my upper and lower eyelids had retracted. My eyes no longer closed all the way. Over and over I’ve had thyroid tests because it sure sounds like thyroid, right? But all the numbers are normal. I think it was Covid related. I read a study that showed a link between the vaccine and Graves’ disease (albeit a rare side effect), but doctors have dismissed the thyroid idea altogether because my numbers are normal. I wonder if you’ve encountered anything about this in your research?

  6. Thanks Dr. But in my case one day i cut lot of onions for my personal cooking, its some what real that my eye automatically clear the dry eyes…. But its a small tips to avoid some chemicals. This video share the knowledge of dry eyes due to covid. 😀Try to support your wife by cut the onion… at least we get the good name to our partner. God Bless All

  7. I contracted covid for the third time July 2023 and pink eye came with it. Can’t recall having pink eye since grade school. And ever since then I’ve been having eye issues. It occurs in one eye at a time mostly. Symptoms are pain in the eyes, itchiness, discomfort to where my eye wants to close itself. I would wake up with crust in my eyes and my eyes shut as a result. Went to the doctor, was prescribed Polymyxin B sulfate and Trimethoprim Opthalmic Solution, USP eye drops. After a week I was good but it seems like the issue arised again today.

I’m thinking it might be allergies (which I’ve never had) but I don’t get any other symptoms and I get exposed to pollen and it doesn’t onset these symptoms.

  8. I started to get problems concerning dry mouth and dry eyes after Covid. Of course, my screen time during Covid was also far too high – and I like to turn on the heating in winter. Plus, I do have several skin conditions which are also linked to dry eyes. So – it all may have contributed. I'm pretty devastated, because I have -6 diopters and would love to wear contacts again, especially for historical reenactment.

  9. I have been dx'd with long-covid for a couple of years & my eyes feel like they're full of sand every day when I wake up. Many days I can't even keep them open, the pain & irritation are so bad. My vision, also, has changed drastically since I had covid in 2020, & I have yet to get a proper eye prescription for glasses that I can actually see with. Sadly, being poor & on Medicaid, I am only able to see an eye dr once every 2 years. Needless to say, eye care is out the window.

  10. There seems to be a link with Long Covid and Sjogrens as well. And thank you for approaching this scientifically. Some doctors selectively ignore evidence due to their discomfort with the newness of it all. To the extent that one ignored the advent of an ocular symptom on Day 10 of an active Covid infection and the fact that it persisted nightly for over a year. He suggested it was somatic, agreed to run Sjogren's blood tests only on my insistance, and then in fact, did not. Again, thank you. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9628191/#:~:text=Overall%2C%20our%20study%20shows%20a,an%20environmental%20trigger%20for%20SjD.

  11. Thank you so much for the vital information. I have been suffering of DED for 4 years after COVID. I managed to control my pain with next things:
    1) Minimum 8 hours of sleep.
    2) Right diet
    3) Always wearing Ziena Glasses (it was very unconfortable at first because of weird look)
    4) Control vitamin D OH-25 (very powerful anti-inflamatory thing)
    5) Xanterdes eye drops
    6) Ointment with vitamin A for night. It gives greasy feeling that lasts all the night.
    7) Eliminate all things that create emotional stress.
    8) No reading for long time;
    9) No display (Phone/ laptop etc.)

  12. I got covid 2 months ago, and it was very traumatizing for my eyes. I went to two eye doctors and a regular doctor to test not only my eyes and all my bodies functions blood pressure, etc.

Everything came back looking great. But my eyes are without a doubt much dryer than before, more sensitive, and i even got additional eye floaters. It was very scary but im hoping they eventually become a bit better with time and with lubricating eye drops that iv been using for a while now. This video and comments eased my mind a bit knowing this may be the cause and im not just going crazy.

  13. I got a CRVO after one Pfizer Jab, I turned down Anti VEGF eye injections because they have a possible cardiac/stroke side effect and I was concerned that this would be increased in conjunction with the mRNA that still might be in my system. The eye hospital agreed this needs to be looked into, as yet no research has been done. At the eye hospital there are others with CRVO after the Covid Jab. I guess this comment may soon be deleted.

  14. I just got glasses for nearsightedness. My prescription is – 0.50 and 0.75. I was wondering when I need to wear my glasses. When I wear them I can see so much better when I wear them especially when watching tv.

  15. It's not cov-19 😂 cov-19 was never isolated in the first place it's From cell phone and cell towers radiation . PS cov-19 is in the jab only so The elephant in the room no one who's unvaccinated is dying think about that

  16. I can't say enough how I appreciate you talking about covid… seems like the taboo subject lately. I know way too many people getting sick 🙁

I have a few issues that sprung from my infections. My latest infection which was asymptomatic has eventually left my dry eyes MUCH worse. I even had what looked like a yellow fluid filled bubble appear on my sclera for some time. It's getting scary 🙁

  17. This is a note to let you know I developed dry eye and the pressure in my eye increased after having Covid. I check in with my eye doc regularly. I think there could be a connection. However, based on a person’s history, ethnic background and got microbes it sometimes still mystery

  18. This all makes so much sense. When Covid was first a thing, I had pink eye and didn’t have a clue where it came from. I went to my eye doc at the time and he mentioned it could be from Covid. Then I got vaccinated and my MGD got so bad that I needed iLux. It eventually got better but recently I got Covid and my eyes were HORRIBLY dry while I was sick. It has gotten better since though, THANK GOD! Glad to know I’m not nuts for thinking part of my MGD was Covid related.

  19. I had the same issue with dry eye becoming way worse after covid . I’ve struggled for two years and became almost suicidal because my eyes were so uncomfortable . I had IPL treatment , and it didn’t really help hugely . I tried estrogen , which helped initially , but then caused horrible acne to develop , and my eyes then got really bad again , probably due to the oil issues in the glands .
Then after hearing a talk by Dr Isaac Elias on a product called Pectasol ( modified citrus pectin ) . This product helps to bind inflammatory proteins called galectin-3 . I thought to just give it a try . Within 10 days my dry eyes improved immensely . Read a book called Survival Paradox – very interesting info about how to treat inflammation .

  20. Thanks for the video ❤
The idea of saying that “this is still new” is so frustrating- if you go to any Covid survivor group- you’ll get your research group already, this been few years already, how new can it be by now when just in the beginning we all can be evident what we went threw and how we were before.

  21. I definitely had worse dry eye symptoms after getting Covid but I don’t think it was permanent. I think it slowly got back to where it was over a year. Totally subjective of course. Intuitively I would expect worse dry symptoms if I get sick. As long as it gets better it doesn’t seem to concerning. But a year is a long time. I really think it took that long to get back to my previous dry eye status.
