  1. I remember watching this premiere when I was a child. It instantly became one of my favorite shows, and then it just disappeared. I was so disappointed. Judson Scott was perfect for the role, and I remember being shocked when I saw him pop up in the Wrath of Khan.

  2. I was very young maybe 10 years old when this came out, glad I found it. That glide through the Peruvian river valley in the opening sequence always made me dream of going there and I did. I’ve now watched through half of the Pilot and found it odd that no one seems astounded interacting with Bennu, whose perfect condition contradicts the fact he had been lying dormant in a sarcophagus for centuries or millennia.

  3. They need a channel an app where they make 80s like shows , set in 80s with 80s vibes of fun and adventure none of the worldly shit in them that ruins alot of todays shows and they run 80s stuff on there too with the new!

  4. I was 8 going on 9 when this came out. Went down a rabbit hole when I was watching the Star Trek the Wrath of Khan then realized Khans LT. was on something with animals then went to IMDB then Google and landed here. Memory lane has a lot of twists and turns lol.

  5. I watched this when I was 7 years old in 2nd grade. Now the same as then. "What the basic hell am I watching." A show that didn't last enough episodes for anyone to understand it.

  6. As silly as this show is….In my 20's (56 now) I experienced a series of unexplainable experiences over the course of about 5 years. Not a drug user or drinker, and not prone to hallucinations with zero interest in any religions or super human abilities. Just a regular kid who liked to play handball and ride his bike. I will keep it brief because I already know that no one will believe any of it and that's the funniest and saddest part, it's too much for anyone who has not had it happen to them themselves. Yet some of it is in this silly show which I just randomly came across at 4:30am.
1- Alien symbols on my wall changing slowly and increasingly quickly. I was paralyzed as thousands of them appeared within a circle.
2- Stared at a deck of cards on my table with no intent, just walked in, stat down, and stared. One by one they slid off the deck and fell to the table. I panicked not expecting this and stopped them with my hand. No open window, no crooked table, and I tried to do it again for the next hour and could not.
3- Walking down the street I randomly decided to rehearse how I would respond to an attack from behind me. I went through the motions several times and suddenly someone was on my back with his hands around my neck. I instantly knew what to do and everything I did worked and I left the person with a bloody mouth. How can this be??? Who or what prepared me?
4- Knowing details about a random girl on the street I had never seen. I walked up to her and told her you will be 18 in two weeks. "How do you know??" she asked. She then told me her brother put me up to it and refused to hear anything else and walked off.
5- Seeing my friend who lives 300 miles away curling her daughter's hair during a migraine I had as I was curled up on my sofa in agony. I saw her in 3D in my mind and tried to ignore it but it kept coming back so I texted her and asked if she was curling her daughter's hair. Instantly she texts me what I saw including 2 hair clips. I had never known her to curl her daughters hair ever. Why would I see this of all things???

So, at 56 I have nothing but questions but these strange things that happened I have no ability that I know of to control or repeat them. The last thing I did which is sort of amazing was start a business with barely any clients, renting an office in Manhattan and after 3 months I realized it was a mistake. Well, one day I am returning from lunch and I hear someone calling me. Of all people it is a neighbor who knew me when I was 16, I was now 33. He worked next door to me and he was a salesman with too many clients and he was happy to send work my way. This saved me and my business took off from there. In my entire life living in NYC do you know how many random encounters I have had with people I know? zero. None! So how does this happen that I rent an office near the only person that can help me? A person I have not seen 17 years? So I can only guess that there is something bigger at play but I have no conscious control or ability, things just sort of happen randomly…or so it seems. I have no one to talk to so writing out these messages online helps.

  7. too bad most tv shows that did not make enough rating or just suddenly pulled off screen, did not have a proper ending or closure. most of them are left hanging leaving audiences and fans mostly dissappointed and disgusted, such shame that this has always been the case of most production sets and tv studios and poorly unfinished season scripts. sigh. like powers of matthew star, benjie zax and the alien prince, among many more others. others can do a remake or revival. so sad.

  8. I remember this when I was a kid in the 70’s… now as an adult… I understand why it didn’t take off in a series… because the concept of the movie was focused more on “climate change”, of which even then there was no scientific evidence regarding the issue, only the beginning of “it’s” idea as an issue.

  9. I remember watching this show as a small child, and I did enjoy it. It was the sign of the times, however, when the idea of saving the whales and saving the planet was running around in a few minds at the time. Of course, I was saddened when the show ended. At that time, I didn't know what cancellations ore re-runs were, so when the show ended it was a moment of "but it's the time and day the show is supposed to be on." And of course, my mom had to try and explain that it was no longer on television. The show did get me into the "unexplained" and "ancient astronaut" idea. It also got me thinking about simple technologies that could help us today. Still, I enjoyed the actor and the series, even short lived as it was. I always wonder what they could do today if they rebooted the series.

  10. I always just thought I had imagined this show, or completely remembered it wrong. I remember the series from when I was a young kid, but couldn’t remember the name. Glad to see it was real and not my imagination.

  11. I remember this show quite well. My brother and I watched it and liked it, but it never continued beyond 5 episodes. I think it was a summer replacement series. Anyway, when we saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, we immediately recognized Judson Scott and were like, "That's that guy from The Phoenix!"

  12. I was 9 when this aired. I thought it was so cool! Richard Lynch was such an underrated actor. Loved him in his Vampire TV movie pilot with Jessica Walter and Jason Miller (The Exorcist).

  13. The character of Bennu of the Golden Light (Judson Scott) is a humanoid alien who possessed special abilities including physical levitation, telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, astral projection and telekinesis. Some of these are made possible or amplified by his Phoenix Amulet, which draws its power from the Sun. The planet Bennu hailed from was originally called Aurica, but was changed to Eldebran for broadcast.
