  1. What bob said is true , you all people just need to wake up and face the truth ! Why Sony still avoid OLED screen for their ps portal ? But still look amazing screen yup they know the old OLED still scare them with vita 1k series , yup now is new OLED but still will give same result like old OLED just need more longer time to see the results , for who blame and angry at bob clearly you own OLED SteamDeck right haha , wake up guys do not just follow the trend and popularity like our phone iphone , we now at ip16 yet apple still don't give we a micro SD card slot did you all guys realize this or not ? Apple will consistently give us update and slower our phone because that we need to upgrade our IP every year mate every year , same issues for OLED if you still high praise for OLED screen the company will still provide the OLED screen , the company only care about your money not your problem , same as ROG Ally and Ally x got many problem but how many YouTuber exposed the issues ? Burn SD card slot no fix , drift stick , yes you can upgrade the SSD to 2tb but no SD card because already burn slot , yet SteamDeck LCD can upgrade ssd 2tb + 512gb or 2tb if you have lot money for SD card class a2 , OLED new still OLED , just avoid buying 2nd hand or refurbished OLED SteamDeck if you want , me I own SteamDeck LCD 512gb original variant and legion go for my high fps performance handheld PC , ya I still using ip15 pro max and Samsung Galaxy z flip 5 , be smart , ok bye

  2. at most I go two hours at a time the longest it might run with not a lot going on is if I'm downloading but then I just lower the brightness as low as it can go or have it working in the background as I play and take the performance hit

  3. Something I like to tell people when it comes to lights and screens: The longest lasting lightbulb (the Centennial Light) on earth has been lit almost entirely for at least 121 years (it's on its own power backup today, it did go off in a few power outages before that, but got turned back on as soon as power was restored) and how did a lightbulb last 121 years? Well, it was made to be a normal, bright bulb, and they dimmed the ever loving crap out of it. Since the filament never actually pushes to its limit, and the filament doesn't change temperature much since it's always on, it doesn't break down like a old style bulb usually would. While I'm not suggesting keeping the steamdeck on all the time, keeping it WAY dimmer will help the screen last. The same applies to all light bulbs, LED strips, TVs, etc. Things tend to die quicker when they are used to their MAXIMUM. So as good rule, if it emits light, and you want it to last, crank it down. It's also better for your eyes. I used to have eye strain at my work, until I dropped my monitors brightness to 35%. It seemed so dim at first, but I got used to it, and now I don't have eye strain at all.

  4. oled degrades way faster than led , that's a fact, the shiny factor of oled and the whole paranoia that comes with it isn't really worth it unless you change your devices every 2 yeras. I don't , i want to keep my devices as much as possible.

  5. Preventative measures work great. I've had my LG C1 at 100 oled brightness now for 7300 hrs and no burn in or uniformity issues from 1% to 15% grey and I've checked all main colors and sub. Stuff like cyan too. Also very little loss of total peak nit output when measured with my colormunki.

That said for 99 bucks you can get a new steam deck screen which isn't really that bad 3-4 years down the line.

  6. 6:21 What are you talking about??? THe blacks "melt away" MUCH better with the Glossy screen. The matte screen lifts the blacks and affects contrast. It is a compromise to lessen reflections. If you got this simple thing wrong, then I cannot trust anything else you said.

  7. I just got my Steam Deck OLED on tuesday. I love it. I got the 1TB etched glass one. Its awesome. So excited to be a decker finally and took me so long. Anyways bettwr late than never. Do i have to be worried? About anything screen or non screen related?

  8. i wish oled didnt burn in because i want to hob on board the oled train so bad.

i just cant justify buying these products knowing that they will go bad so quickly. i play mostly games with static elements, sometimes up to 10 hours a day, i know i will go through oleds like crazy.

  9. i would love to see a burn-in test using a software to change brightness periodically to simulate real world use. i dont keep my phone at max brightness unless im using it under the sun. And unlike most TVs and monitors, its easy to change steamdeck brightness like a phone.

  10. If I had a handheld like this, chances are I'd mostly use it in handheld when on the go and just keep it docked at home, so I would probably never see burn in for several years

  11. Should I get the OLED? Is the screen still good tho? I would like to play mine on my porch when it's sunny. Hopefully I can do that. I want the 1tb OLED model but idk really. Is there a 1tb model that isn't OLED? O.o
