In today’s episode Ben explores a potential NEW power of the “Bond of Blood” charm that we had never previously considered. How far does its power extend? Just Voldemort? His agents? What about the Dursley’s themselves? A recent discovery may just change how we interpret this novel and obscure brand of magic.

I’d like to hear the brothers’ opinion on what Moody’s boggart would’ve been
if the sacrificial protection needs the person to give the option to live before die, like voldemort offered lily, why harry said he activated the sacrificial protection in the forest, since voldemort didn’t give him the option to live?
Idk if there is a video about the golden flames of harry’s wand in deathly hallows. Because for me it was the horcrux inside him, but now I hear it was the wand, how is this? The wand was charged and defended itself or defended harry?
I have a question/what if theory proposition. What if a magical Muggle born's parents said no to their child attending Hogwarts. It is known that when a Muggle born receives their letter, a staff member from Hogwarts visits to explain magic and life at Hogwarts. However, what if a Muggle born's parents, after being visited by a staff member, decide that they feel uncomfortable sending their child to Hogwarts or believe that magic isn't real and this is all a joke. The magic would still be in this child whether or not they attend Hogwarts. Would they be an obscurious and eventually die because of the contained magic? I would love if y'all have any thoughts on this to please share.
The most unrealistic part of the entire Harry Potter story about Magic is Harry returning to the Dursleys.
He just wouldn't return to them after what he experienced at Hogwarts.
Amazing video explaining why uncle Vernon can’t really harm Harry potter in the franchise, fantastic job.
For the first time you forgot something. Hurt is as small as a punch and in the books uncle and nefew exchanged blows many times.
Or, here me out, legal consequences
Vernon is bluster. But he does not indulge in physical punishments. He can make Harry’s life miserable, but physical violence is not n his make up.
Vernon strangling Harry AND electric shock, I forgot that.
Hitherto, my proof text had been DD's letter to Petunia "Remenber my last." referring to the letter when DD left baby Harry on the doorstep in Winter.. I assumed DD had used blood magic so that if Harry dies then Bubley dies.
Nah – uncle vernon harry and dudley have a fight over the letters in book one where they all end up hurt.
…huh…mind blown…ty for the content. Love the channel and the read-through.
Isn't the protection specifically against Voldemort? Harry was bullied by other children, not just Dudley. Malfoy attacked him without a problem. The dementors almost got him, etc.
I wonder if Regulus Black was reincarnated as Harry. Their relation with Sirius, their hunt for horcruxes, accepting death to protect someone else's life, etc.
Okay but like… I always thought Vernon did physically harm Harry.
He constantly threatens to beat Harry. Such a threat wouldn't really be effective if he never followed through. And when Vernon tries to strangle him, Harry acts like it isn't a big deal, suggesting that things like that happens often. Why would Vernon keep doing things like that after 15 years if it never works? Or if he literally gets electrocuted every time he tries? Wouldn't he have realised that he can't actually harm Harry?
It's also mentioned that Harry knows exactly how far away from his uncle he needs to stand in order to be outside of his reach. He wouldn't need to remember that knowledge if Vernon never harmed him.
So I always thought it was pretty obvious that all of the Dursleys were physically abusive towards Harry
I actually believe you could be wrong here… the scar hurting when this occurs. I think its actually Voldemorts soul reacting to the attack through Harry in some way. It actually certainly explains why the Dementors came that night… but also to why no other attacks or abuse comes from him.
See everyone figured its Harry's Trauma that caused him to be attacked by the dementors in that book but it laid the grounding for the Horcrux twist (the first book actually has a bigger stone than just the scar btw…) that scar burns whenever Voldemort is remotely involved in the later story. To the point once he returns Harry gets a Voldey sense of sorts when he finds himself near another part of Voldemort.
The Burning of the Scar occurs when he encounters Dementors probably cause they were never actually aiming at Him but the fragmented soul inside… the darkest part is the last happy memory Voldemort ever had was just before Lilly jumped in and stuck him in a Baby. So that echoing when the Dementors come at him is likely the desperation of Voldemort from being eaten by a Dementor.
Im not sure if you know this but better help has been selling people's personal information and paying off YouTube to not say anything about it i don't think the super Carlin Brothers would do that so im just letting you know i mean ive been watch this channel since i was 10 so i think there good
but what if petunia rejected taking harry in? was it to keep herself safe??
Such a tiny thing but hearing you say the phrase ‘primary school days’ but saying it with the inflection of like…a description of his school days, made me realise that you guys might not know that school you attend ages 5-10 is actually called ‘primary school’ in the uk. like ‘elementary school’ for you I guess 😅
Didn't stop Dudley from using Harry as a punching bag.
Genuinely disheartened by the continued Better Help ads. I want to think you’re just not aware of all the issues surrounding but at this point… it doesn’t feel like an excuse anymore
Perhaps the scar-crux is examining the situation and will allow Harry to be "harmed" but not killed. For example when he's hit by bludgers and then Lockhart removes his arm bones. That's not lethal so the scar allows it. Whereas Vernon choking Harry out potentially is lethal so the scar fights back.
5:28 it was still pretty normal in the 80 and 90's. Which is when the story takes place.
12:00 If that’s the case aren’t Harry and Tom blood related? Even if It is very distant they are still blood related so how come he can’t harm him?
3:51 *Israel has entered the chat
I would look into better help before using them always a good idea to look into something your self before paying for it
Could a muggle turned into a horcrux, be mistaken for a witch or wizard. Like how harry got parsel tongue from voldemort, could a minor power to cast spells be dealt with the same way, since like witches and wizards , its implied both magic, and speaking to snakes, is a genetic property
Love the last line of the video!
