I'm Max LVL bounty hunter role and Max LVL Collector role, I'm still on my journey through the trader role at level 11.
It is torture.
Best thing for money and your valuable time is either moonshiner or trader. If you have plenty of free time and wanna just walk around and do nothing (boring) then collector. I do bounty hunts while moonshine and trader fill then sell and repeat.
Rdo has the worst economy I've ever witnessed in a game. 15 gold just to start one of the role is insane because if how effing long it takes to make gold. Rockstar is up their with ubisoft and EA for the most greedy mfs around

They took away the lucrative rdr1 pass time and put it into rdro. But the payout is like youre stuck in new Austin. The worst part. We domt have unlimited bounty hunting in single player. I dont think we can hold back the damn truth since day 1. They wanted RDO to be like gta online
But made more mistakes that made dutch's plans looks like a feasible idea
Bounty hunting is just so Rockstar, repetitive video gaming. I take a more RP approach to Red Dead Online and the Trader role is where it’s at. You go hunting and your business partner manufactures product and finds buyers. Really feels like you’re out there in the old west making a living for yourself
Only bad thing Abt bounty hunting is the initial 15 gold needed to start basic jobs
