ill be honest i dont care about the custodeans being females in it self, but the principle is why i stand with 40k fans.

40k is the most diverse universe already, the battle sisters are argueably better than space marines. they fight the same enemies with argueabbly less corruption and mind blowing lore (look up the rival process of sain celesitine and not weap for this girl). Im prettysure once people see a female space marine, they see a genderless grotesque pale comprison of woman. Male space marines are often mindless indoctrinated kiling machines that rarely have any personal relationships. Most ofthe female characters are better written and fill every other niche from imperial guard up to the inquistion
At least part of the reason why the Emperor didn't make the Space Marine processing accessible to women is because the whole point was to PRESERVE the human race, not REPLACE it.

Let me preface this by saying. I've been a fan of warhammer in its many forms for multiple decades now. I have give or take 8+ built armies. I've read and loved well over 40+ of the novels. I love this world. It's horrible but I love it. That being said. Who caaaaaaaaares? Don't like them? Don't build them. Lore gets rewritten all the time in warhammer with every edition. Hell most of the novels aren't even considered canon. Women are in just about every faction in the game. There were female space marine models that were only removed due to poor sales. Then we have Sisters of Battle and the Sisters of Silence who are both badass. So who gives a fuck if a few models get the option. Who cares if they make custodies female. It changes nothing about the setting. All you are doing is bringing more attention to it. Let the sales decide. Lets all be honest here. GamesWorkshop has NEVER been afraid to charge us insane amounts of money on models then remove them entirely from the game. All your crying about this is only making you look like a weak little baby who a commissar would gladly end.
