im 40, i started boxing at 36 years old. to be frank boxer at my age ego are very low, most of us listened to everyone advise. because look, our time are limited, had no time to waste.
When you said feint
-pivot-hook 😮😱😂
Thank you kind sir
Man your videos really helped me and my team mates
Boxing is such an art and very difficult.
Ive been doing Muay Thai and BJJ me entire life. I just started boxing a year ago and its much harder lol
I fell for the joke, when he said the first basic punch you must learn is the feint, lead hook, LOL
Thanks coach, it's great to go over the basics again from time to time no matter the level
Hello! I am learning from your videos. This has been so helpful for my mental health, healing CPTSD one punch at a time to the heavy bag. You are really making a difference in some human beings online. I wish I had the money to study there or pay for the extra content, but you are so generous with all that you have shared. I wish I could share my progress. Thanks, tons!!
The one thing I've noticed with this is the telegraphing, but that's such an advanced technique to remove that it's not even a problem for self-defense.
But if you're trying to go Gold Gloves or pro, you gotta learn how to avoid telegraphing.
i tried learning your punches but i seem to be too weak so when i put all my strength into a punch i hurt my shoulder haha
What about getting into range while jabbing to read the reaction until you are in range. I think people forget when in a ring or when closing a gap you shouldn't forget about punches. What is your take? Also the rear hook should be like a circle downward, right?
8:19 corkscrew!?
wow good
Thanks Toby, my notes:
Jab (straight lead hand)
Jab step
Cross (straight punch with your dominant hand)
Lead hook (lead hand to the adversarie jaw)
Double jab rear hook (rear is your dominant hand while lead is your guide hand the one in front of you on guard.)
Lead hook to the body
screw shot with lead hand
uppercut with the rear hand (short, middle and long range)
Lead uppercut
Cross to the body
Jab to the body
Rear hook to the body
Bolo punch
Pivot hook
getting back into martial arts after doing taekwondo all my life (and after a few year break) this video is really helpful to see what is done in boxing and opens my eyes to other fighting styles! i dont know if i could ever feel comfortable in a boxing stance though – that is the opposite to what i was taught for so many years! great informative video, definitely subbing
you had me there in the beginning with the feint and pivot hook 😂😂😂😂😂😂
These are the best boxing training videos I've seen yet. I'm approaching 72 years of age and have no plans of getting into the ring, but enjoy the workouts. Great job and keep up the good work.
Tony is the man. My fav boxer of all time and undefeated!!!!! I would give anything to hangout with Tony for 1 day. I would be 🧐 nerd soaking it all up😂😂😂
Thanks free training nice
Bro imagine strong bolo punch in some friendly sparing
Thank you!
Thank you, Tony!
They say that if you rise back to neutral from ducking as you're throwing a rear uppercut, you may end up strengthening your punch with electricity if you time it right.
The foot has to turn also while you punch with the hand, the foot in line with the foot?
Thank you Tony for the videos. I’m 54 and took up boxing to learn self defense and to get in shape
Im a new subscriber. Just wanted to thank you for the information you have given us.
I have a 2 year old son his ears stick out more than yours do sir. This is really the case im not here to troll you. I nicknamed him Elfkin. I want him to learn some fundamental boxing so he can defend himself from bullies when and if the time comes. Im hoping to learn some things through youtube just enough that i might be able to look into boxing classes for him to take someday. I look forward to watching all the videos on your channel again thank you for your time and for sharing.
thank you for being the model for my art, no other good references so thank you very much
I’m kinda just using boxing as exercise, I don’t really plan on fighting, but knowing hip and foot movement combined with proper punches makes for a great workout
