  1. This video summed up everything I've been thinking about (and much more!) for the past year or so as I saw the AI bubble grow into oblivion and people getting CONSUMED by it. Watching every company on gods green earth implement some kind of AI no matter how useless just because of the completely artificial hype made by OpenAI and the likes to sell more of their linear algebra minimization techniques masked as intelligence. And this video is one of the most terrifying videos I've ever seen. And that's exactly why it's so important. This video is the exact opposite of what the AI curated algorithms that have taken over our lives since TikTok want us to see. It's >1h long and it's absolutely BRUTAL. No punches held back, just cold hard truth. So far from comforting and yet so important to see. I applaud the countless DAYS you must have put into this. Because in the end it's effort, creativity, decisions, actual research and life experience that make this kind of quality content. I applaud your cynicism and yet your hopefulness that we can still get some of our future back by fighting. Honestly I needed to hear that because the only future I could imagine for us is the one you initially described, completely submitted to an unintelligent AI, and by our own will. Movies portray AI disasters as a superintelligence weaponizing itself and physically destroying humanity, but honestly the future we're headed towards is far more terrifying. Eating our brains from the inside and giving up our will and critical thinking to be easily milked and manipulated by the maniac billionaires that are willing to do anything to live forever.

It feels so sad studying computer science when it's been turned into the most evil industry in the world. And it's somehow aiming to replace its own people. Programmers and digital artists and everybody that you can save a buck on. When we were kids we were promised we'd have robots that will take care of the most boring and menial tasks in our lives and jobs that nobody wants to do, so we can focus on something smarter, more interesting, creative and fulfilling. And instead the AI is taking the artists jobs first… And I'm so glad you pointed out the irony, because it's so so sad.

I probably sound like a paranoid doomer conspiracy theorist with this wall of text that is probably contributing very little but I assure you I think about other things in life as well xD. I just had a very human need to say all of this, express my thoughts, especially after this video… Humans have psychological needs and it's sad to see them exploited. Actually the most disgusting thing in this video are those AI girlfriends. I don't even care how weird it is… it can't be healthy. We are social creatures that need real connections with real people. And our solution to loneliness is isolating people further?? Giving them an AI to talk to and get emotionally attached to? I can only imagine the mental health issues this will cause in the future… I really wish people stood up to stop this shit.

  2. I'm old enough to remember when corporations went absolutely ape shit over torrent sites. The site itself didn't host the pirated software, only links. Now we've come full circle, where corporations are championing "it's only a link bro, not the actual copyright material". I can die laughing now.

  3. Just this sentence from your video sums it up for me:
"The dream of the internet; All the world's information at your fingertips, has been completely swallowed by companies like Google. The world's information is at their fingertips. And you can maybe get some of it, through an automated chatbot. Which is free for now but they can charge you if the stock price ever goes down."

Very interesting watch/listen. Thank you for making this (mostly) without AI, hahahaha!

  4. That's a fun observation surrounding slavery policies… because I notice it too.
Amazon is a fun source for that kind of stuff and well.. you don't have to look far to find why they skirt the line so much.

  5. The key point is this: In Silicon Valley, companies often develop their products in secrecy. By the time they launch with full force, it's too late for the rest of us to even raise questions.

  6. AI != machine learning. You cannot use the terms interchangably. Im sure this is a good video that adresses actual good points and issues that need adressed but for the love of god do a smidgen of research into the field of AI.

  7. the anti-AI rhetoric often carries a tinge of elitism and intellectual arrogance. Critics position themselves as the enlightened few, protecting society from the supposed perils of AI

  8. It’s hilarious yet somewhat infuriating when people give a 2 minute, extremely basic and often partly incorrect explanation of how AI works and then use their misunderstanding to go on an hour long rant about how people need to work instead of using AI. I want to see an update based on current AI, which is already superior to all models shown in the video. You already have to back track on half of what’s said in the video and another quarter will be dispelled in another 5-6 months.

People are so scared because they identify themselves with their work, which they see as their livelihood. It makes them take a stance against it without bothering to learn how it really works and can be used. Most anti-AI people just need to get used to the fact that you don’t need to make money from what you love to do to keep doing it. The point of AI is that you won’t have to work for money, you’ll be able to do whatever work or hobby you want to without having to worry about how much it pays. All publicly available AI is just the very beginning, they’re all infants without bodies yet people expect them to be capable of real labor immediately. That’s not how it works, it has to learn virtually before we start rolling out physical robots capable of doing the tasks that people want AI to do. You wouldn’t want an untested, unintelligent robot in your house that can only do 1 or 2 things, would you? They learn how to behave in virtual environments and do art because such tasks and environments are not consequential like physical testing. It would be less safe, slower, and more expensive to try to just jump straight to domestic robots.

  9. thank you. maybe i didnt get the point until like an hour in. choice is an ephemeral subject for me, but by god do i not want to give youtube money or advertising ammo.
many signs are pointing to the idea that i have to do some sort of "internet cleanse". this path has sucked too much of my time away.
    have a nice day/week/month/etc.

  10. Welp, they think that AI is going to throw down the humans but AI just accepts inputs and then gives outputs in basic terms. If this gets fixed somehow, maybe… it might… ???

  11. "never" is such a strong word to use when it comes to AI capabilities in general

think about the size and power consumption of the human brain. It can't be matched by a computer? Ever?

  12. It's kind of that intelligence vs wisdom thing. Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing the difference between ketchup and smoothie mix, or whatever lol. AI is intelligence without wisdom.

  13. The algorithm brought me to this video, as I’m sure it has done with many people. Subscription earned. The arrogance of the system will be its’ downfall. Things can and will be different.

Peace and love to you all from Croatia!

  14. I mean my largest issue with the whole we're calling this AI is as you said many a time it's not actually intelligent and I don't think we could develop an actual AI without knowing how consciousness works now will research find how that works through a Machine learning breakthrough as one of my colleagues (work software dev and am personally very sceptical) I don't know but yeah in the end we need to know how consciousness works for that, I mean in the end I'd love a friend like Cortana but that's not easy or reasonable at all, and don't get me wrong I don't want something like replika that can't really know anything I want a digital friend who actually knows themselves as well as real friends

  15. On the topic of google's newfound fascination with AI
They are currently testing some other features such as AI generated music for shorts, AI green screen backgrounds for shorts, and possibly more, we'll see in the coming months. They are very very very interested in an act first, think later model of forward thinking and frankly its gross. Youtube is only going to get more and more AI "features"
