Unfortunately I think this does not work for those with steroid induced cataracts. I have been taking them for months and no reversal yet but maybe it’s just stopping it from getting worse. Wish I knew about this before the steroids caused them.

I suddenly developed a cataract on just one eye, about 1 year after finishing chemo (2nd time in 13 years) for LDBCL and the ophthalmologist asked if had done steroids ! Prednisone! Massively during the chemo. The other eye is fine, weird.

I was told that N Acetyl Carnosine eye drops for dogs could be used on humans.
I watched first a German and after a Indian video in english talking about Rosemary tea/eyedrops and googleing it, the Rosemary really contains carnosic acid. So there is a link on these facts. It may help. Of course demands sanitary cautions when making these things at home. Also the right dosage may be something hard to find.

what would you definine as too much sugar @DrBerg? My sugar intake per day might be a piece of homemade cake & possibly a small glass of wine and fruit sugars from fresh fruit? Im not bingeing out on synthentic sugars at all EVER its only with awareness, yet I have cataracts forming. I have been using this protocol for 7 months now and not seen a change for better, only for worse. I do have implants in my eyes. phakic lens put in 12 years ago. Perhaps this is what stopped nutrients from getting to my eyes? My eyesight has decrreased in optres too 🙁

What strength of these eye drops do you recommend
I wanted to ask for advice. I am 67 years old and had vitrectomy surgery for something called posterior vitreous detachment three weeks ago. I was warned that a cataract might form within 1-2 years of surgery on that eye but in fact at my check up last week I was told that I had a rapidly forming cataract which was likely to mean further surgery. I am keen to avoid cataract surgery if at all possible. I am taking a variety of supplements and already have a good diet with minimal sugar. There was no evidence of cataracts prior to surgery. Would anyone know whether NAC eye drops would help at all in my case.? Keen to do everything I can to avoid further surgery particularly as I read that the cataract operation is more complex with higher risks after a vitrectomy.

I eat no to low sugar diet. Substitue stevia, Erythritol and other when using a sweetner and still forming a cataract.

Put a drop IN your eyes before bed, as the oil will making seeing a bit blurry when you apply it. Let it go to work overnight, then clean out the gunk in the morning from the inner corner of your eyes. I have never felt any irritation. And use a trace amount as a face and neck moisturizer.
I am 72 and my latest eye test showed I have the early stages of cataracts. I am physically fit and healthy. I walk 4 to 6 miles most days and I teach dancing. I eat a healthy diet and I fast for 18 to 20 hours most days and include a 24/72 hour fast every couple of months. I take no medication. How can sugar therefore be the main cause of cataracts?
I don't know if it helps with the cataracts; it has made my eyes feel better.
I found eBay to be a much better source than Amazon for NAC eye drops. And compare different sellers,
because the price varies wildly. I found a good site right here in CA. You might consider avoiding 3rd world
sources due to shady practices or problems like expired product…
I purchased a C-NAC (Sodium Carboxymethyl cellulose, N-Acetyl -L-Carnosine & Glycerin) eye drop package of 3-10ml bottles from eBay. Praying this works. I was just diagnosed with grade 1 cateracts in June of 2024. Looking forward to my next check up this year. I am a long term sufferer of Crohn's Disease from age 9. My body does NOT do well with surgery of any type. I end up with keloid scaring. I'm so Praising God for an alternative treatment for my future. Praying for a reversal of my cataracts. I'm in my 3rd month of using the drops so far. Thank you, Dr. Berg! The Crohn's is in remission but the damage to my intestinal tract & gut health from my 1st surgery before even having a diagnosis has left me with malabsorption & malnutrition issues. Dr. Berg, I found the CAN- C brand that you mentioned in our online store here in Korea. However, the description says that it is for cats and dogs. It seems like it really works for these animals because many pet owners are buying despite of the fact that it is really very pricey almost about US$75 for a box (5ml X2). Eye drops here are just about US$3. Can you please advise if I can buy this for me despite of the description?
