The Glass Steagall Act, stop unscrouplous Banksters using mortgages, pensions, savings and assets to raise Collateral with which to gamble on Wall Street.
Depositor Banks is where your mortgage, pensions, savings and assets are kept safe. The banksters sat on the boards of both banks.
When Bill Clinton was President he repealed the Glass Steagall Act which resulted in the 2007 2008 financial crisis crash. He removed the firewall, which left the banking system unregulated.
The Banksters plundered the Depositor banks, used peoples' mortgages, pensions, saving and assets to raise Collateral which they repackaged into Collateral Loan Obligations (CLOs) and Default Swap Obligations (DSOs) Derivatives, and with the loot gambled it on Wall Street. It wasn't the bankster's money they put at risk it was your money.
All transactions were made through an instution, but an institution is not a bank and therefore didn't come under strict banking regulations. When the Subprime property market went belly up it caused the financial banking crisis of 2007 2008. The Taxpayer was forced to pick up the Tab to bail out the banks to the tune of hundreds of billions. But the banksters took the profits and socialised the losses, which resulted in home repossessions and never-ending austerity. Gordon Brown and Tony Blair changed the banking system in the UK. All the UK banksters piled into the Subprime in the USA. And where was our Chancery Court when all this racketeering was going on?
