My ex's brother at 24 adopted a 12 year old girl. Got the tax credit, got food stamps, dropped her off at the MIDDLE SCHOOL every morning, picked her up, etc etc etc. The girl's father had died in an accident 2 years before that, and the mother is a junkie. The guy that adopted her swore that he wasn't "sleeping" with her…. they shared a bed in a 1 bedroom house…. until she "matured." She eventually dropped out of school. She had their 1st child at 18. She cannot drive, she doesn't have a job, she isn't even allowed to go shopping for clothes or food – he buys what he wants her to wear and eat. Also, she's never been to a hair salon. her hair is past her butt. She can't go to a dentist and her teeth are rotting. She doesn't have a phone or at least she wasn't allowed before. ☹️ it breaks my heart every time I think about her. All of this happened after 2005.
