  1. Id also have a problem with an AC game set in Egypt, lets say during Cleopatra's reign, having a main character be some random Roman dude and they justified it saying

"Well there was actually a Roman guy there at the time. And besides its a video game so who cares. Now pls excuse me while i pat myself on the back for being such a good person."

Not saying Yasuke shouldnt be in the game. Make him a really important side character. Afterall, AC games are meant to have a FICTIONAL character(s) interact with fictionalized versions of real people/events.

And Yasuke would be PERFECT for that Merc side character everyone loves. But maybe have the main characters reflect the area the game takes place in, thx

  2. If they can spend money and resources to make content, and then only offer it to a select few so theyre not maximizing revenue off that piece of content, this shows that the argument around cost to make games leading to higher prices is BS.

  3. Haven’t really enjoyed an AC since Unity. Unity was so close to being amazing once it was fixed. Syndicate was okay. The more recent ones were fun but not AC games. This makes me excited to see how it turns out.

  4. Of everyone on either side whining about Yasuke right now, Luke's take on it is one of the only fair and rational ones. I think Yasuke could be a very interesting character in a very uninteresting game. I wish that instead of shoehorning a black guy into a Japanese set game, they'd set the game somewhere in Africa and had Yasuke take on the Dutch or something like that. Personally, I love Japan, but I'm tired of it. I want more Africa in video games, or Indonesia, or India, or even China! I just want new historical fiction!

  5. Least im odyssey one had the choice whether you wish to go lesbo with kassandra or homo as alexios, but here, just forced go accept a black gay samurai and if you say something like dude stop promoting a game like this then you called homphoboc or bigot so i will not be playing this, plus i love japan and their rich culture, and this approach and how they marketing it comes across as insulting

  6. Regarding the gameplay – do you remember them talking about how vastly they changed up the parkour system in Valhalla and nothing changed at all? Yeah. It's going to be like that.

  7. I actually don't know why would someone pay extra for game to play e.g. 3 days early and experience 100+ bugs in a game early. Sometimes I think ubi want's to pay us for betatesting after release and it is stupid.

  8. As much as a large focus of this video is around weather change, wind and changes of approach. These are elements that we have seen in other AC games. However, never at the same time. For example, winter/ summer AC 3, wind effects AC origins.

I can't wait for this next instalment of the franchise, so long as they haven't rushed it like on too many occasions.

  9. Syndicate and Odyssey are two of the best. Odyssey in particular was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had. Got high hopes for this after the abortion that was Valhalla and Mirage.

  10. What are you talking about? Odyssey has a walking museum with historically accurate landmarks, AC have tried a lot to be accurate with historical elements. Don't know why you feel the need to downplay that

  11. I think what is really funny about the Yasuke drama is that compared to pretty much every other AC protagonist Yasuke still is one of the most accurate depictions of their real-life counterpart. Most of the AC protags are completely made up and the ones that are real usually are just some normal guy. Yasuke was a retainer for a Japanese lord, and retainers were roles often held by samurai. So does that mean that Yasuke was for sure a samurai? No. But ignoring the fact that this isn't even the 1st time Yasuke has been represented as a samurai in a story, it still makes his depiction in this game closer than virtually every other AC protagonist.

Side note: the controversey on why or why not he should be considered a Samurai also doesn't really track anyways. Because what is confirmed is that Yasuke was appointed to Guard Obunaga, was given residency and payment. He was for sure a "warrior" but the argument is whether or not he ranked high enough to be considered "samurai". And if we are being honest, people aren't getting upset because the new trailer hinted that Yasuke was inaccurately given 2 swords instead of just 1, or that he was given a fief instead of a residency. He's wearing armor, and using weapons like a warrior and in a fashion that we associate with the term Samurai, in which case historically Yasuke fits that description.

  12. I mean it’s not cos it’s a black samurai, it’s why they chose to clutch at straws for wokeness and not just use a Japanese model 🤷‍♂️ thought that’s the point of the games to see the side of the assassins from all over the world 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ was really looking forward to a samurai assassin would of been awesome

  13. I’m honestly in disgust that Yet again they put a game up for preorder and there isn’t even gameplay out. Like wtf? And yet there are people stupid enough to preorder not knowing what they’re signing up for

  14. I was all for this game until I learned there's a pay wall to content in pre-order.

For everything else… you guys have content creators afrid to speak their minds about Yusuke. If you don't have a degree in historical facts. 🤫 Don't play the game.

  15. Dude. The obviously MAJOR difference between the way this game "massages" the "historical record" and the way AC Odyssey did is that Medusas and Cyclopses are mere myths – Yasuke and his history are factual and the "massaging" (or should I rather say "messaging") in AC Shadows carries a boatload of political and ideological virtue signalling, which is exactly what people criticize about this rewriting of history. There simply were no black samurai and people are sick and tired of this woke dei bs..

  16. I generally enjoy Ubisoft games. I sunk hundreds of hours into Assassin's Creed Odyssey because of how strong I found the core gameplay loop. There are elements that exemplify everything wrong with AAA games (excessive monetization, anti-consumer DRM implementations, a reliance on FOMO and time-gating), but Ubisoft is where I like to go for a bloated, massive open world game with high production values.

  17. Putting aside the Samurai, the game sounds very fun. I'm looking forward – just like to any AC game, although not the biggest fan of the latest ones. Didn't like the last one.
