  1. It's such a shame as we're desperate for a good pirate game. One that's story focused with a more realistic art style. Not a strategy game, mainly multiplayer or live service.

Imagine if we now had a Black Flag remake or a similar original spin off instead of Skull and Bones.

We've got to wait a while for a BF remake and S&B was a waste of devs time. People said at the start that wanted something different or wanted certain aspects and Ubisoft just didn't care.

  2. The game despite it's price cuts is on my blacklist due to Kernel level anti cheat built in meaning Wemod or Plitch trainers can not work. Running the game WITH the anticheat, it literally modifies your operating system at the kernel level, hijacking OPERATING SYSTEM LEVEL code and manipulating it such that key windows api functions are messed with. ANY PROGRAMS that call these functions at kernel level are affected, including your REAL anti virus program, programs that deal with security, as well as adding unknown effects to the programs running on your machine in the background. But just know, that these kernel level anticheats are modifying your OS. Plain and simple.

  3. Was about to make the mistake of picking this up when it went on discount. Thank you. Now I'll waste it elsewhere.

But I 100% agree that we need a good pirate game. I guess the issue is "how do we make this game GTA with pirates, but not make it feel like GTA with pirates" and they never figured it out.

  4. Not gonna lie. The game does look fun. I'd rather wait for sale to pay what it's actually worth. All I want is the option to play offline and board ships. Just those two would be fine.

  5. 20:29 no no no pls no man, not a linear pirate game! Linearity is the antithesis of pirate freedom, even old games like Sid Meire's Pirates were very open even if they didn't have an actual open world.

  6. man, I was really looking forward to this game all the way up until lunch. I didn't end up getting it, but I still love the art. I just happily received the artbook in the mail this morning. 🏴‍☠️

  7. I wouldn’t want a pirate game if I hadn’t played AC Blackflag. But after I played that game I definitely wanted more! So I obviously bought AC Rogue and loved it as well! When Skull and bones was announced I couldn’t wait! A pirate game from the studios that made an amazing pirate game without it really being one. I ended up not even buying skull and bones. I couldn’t and still can’t understand what they were thinking… I hate online service even though I love the concept. As far as I’ve played online service just means:

“Here is our crappie mess but don’t worry it will get good!”
“Well, we couldn’t possibly have calculated the bug-fixes we had to do… But it will get better later!/But we’ll fix the bugs later!”
“I guess nobody likes this genre?”

Had they given us a real pirate AC-ish game people would’ve loved it! I remember coming on the job (bartender) and someone whistling what shall we do with the drunken sailor from the kitchen… But they gave us something that makes me fear for the future of pirate games. Sigh… There was so much opportunity…

If you’re gonna do online then Imagine being able to be part of the navy. Able to choose British, Dutch, Spanish etc. Hunt down other players/pirates. Defending other transports ships with tons of gold.
Have different fighting styles to choose from bulky to nimble to Sparrow like. And of course add all black flag features. One of the most mind blowing features of Blackflag was the actual on board fighting to take the ship! The swashbuckling those things make the game. Maybe some day… maybe in a different dimension I don’t know…

  8. did i pass out or did the "big patch" never actually get discussed? not sure how skull and bones is really doing just logged in for the first time in 6 weeks. im 3800 on the weekly leaderboard.

  9. Manual boarding. Being able to let go of the wheel and wander your deck. The ability to jump off your ship and swim to whatever island you come across even if there's nothing there. On-foot sword and flintlock combat both on land (including new missions and random encounters focused on it) and through said manual boarding.

Until every one of these features is added, this game will not be good.

My only saving grace of having a decade old dying laptop is that I have to wait to play this game and won't have to have played it in its release state. I know I'd hate myself for even trying to give it a chance in its current state.

  10. I know I'm a minority but I enjoy the game still today. However, I'll be honest. I got it for free. So yeah, I consider it to be a really fun F2P 😂😂 which, jokes aside, should be the way to go with this MMO.

  11. microtransactions ruined it for me, ive got all the ships and the weapons i wanted i had a token for the 1st season so i leveled it all up, now theres nothing left to do! ohhh look a new season! access denied cant buy it im out of gold…. theres no way to earn gold, how you get gold? you have to BUY IT! i refuse to put any more money into this game, ive got no reason to play it now that game didnt last very long.

  12. "In addition to being a game no-one really asked for"?

Mate, before your brain had fully developed there existed an amazing game called Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. It had one of the best gameplay loops of its time, amazing open world, the BEST water physics and insanely good ship combat. EVERYONE asked for the sailing and ship part of the game as a stand-alone. We literally gave Ubisoft a blank cheque, all they had to do was copy-paste AC4, remove the story, update the graphics and add multiplayer. They FAILED. The whole reason this game is a flop is not because it's not playable, because theres a bunch of idiots that actually support this kind of awful leadership, they threw out everything good about AC4 and this abomination is what we were left with.

  13. I went into this game with zero experience or comparisons when they did the free play days a week or so ago. Bought the game and have been playing nothing else since 🤷‍♂️
