It's a misconception that psychopathy is a personality disorder. It's not. It's a disorder of emotional perception, which causes the psychopathic personality to grow. Compare to sociopathy, in which the environment molds the personality into a sociopath. Sociopathy is a personality disorder, psychopathy is a personality formed by erroneous perception of the environment. The environment being the stimulus both sensory and emotional.
