The Russia angle is just an excuse I think – far more likely it's a cover for the Government to prepare for a civil war that they know they are purposefully and gradually making inevitable. They'll harden infrastructure etc not to prevent Russian saboteurs, but rather the UK natives who they anticipate will eventually rise up in a last ditch attempt to save the country from a completely corrupt Government & judicial system.

Anyone who believes that "drones will do everything" doesn't understand drone warfare. There is a huge flaw that guarantees that wars will never be fought by drones alone. That flaw is that drones can't hold ground. You can't secure positions and territory with just drones. You need human soldiers to do that. And drones still require human soldiers to go out in the field to deploy and control them. Drone warfare is not fought from HQs. It's fought on the battlefield, just like any other type of warfare.
