Not only have I heard of Court Tennis, as it's generally called in North America, I've played it. And it's an absolute blast. Good luck finding a court, though! There's fewer than fifty in the entire world.
Etonian here, Rackets is not a dying sport, it’s still being played in matches, competitions and many courts in the UK, especially in many boarding schools like Harrow, Westminster, and my school, Eton College. I guess it could be called posh or royal tennis since you need such a big space to play though…
When Lawn Tennis was invented. Real tennis players complained that it was not a real sport. It was just a game to be played by older gentleman with their wives and children. Only men who were too old to play real tennis would play Lawn Tennis. Sound familiar?
