  1. "statistically the safest vehicles on the planet"

Because anyone can afford a £200 car from 20 years ago, few people can afford submarines.
And the safety is just pure waste thing would've had me nope out of there so fast I'd hit Mars before Elon.
Glad you said "was" a smart kid, cause he clearly outgrew that phase. Lmao

  2. Sorry, but he was right. He was clearly convinced enough to bet his life on it. Anybody that signed the warnings it WAS NOT ON HIM to do more. He used the loopholes at his time just like anyone else could. He was brave. If he would have pulled it off and technically risking death and it DIDN'T happen but could've happened he would have been a respected innovator and nothing less. NASA is no better than Oceangate in risking lives.

  3. Whoever thinks billionaires are smarter than those who aren't and earned their wealth, remember these people got in a sub made by a man who thought safety was a waste.

  4. The thing that’s also sad about what happened is the people involved, particularly the guy who only wanted to take his dad on a nice trip. That one broke my heart and has stuck with me for some reason.

  5. As his ulterior motive was mining the deep sea environment for his own financial gain it is karma that the deep sea got him before he screwed it up for the planet. Instant karma = instant fish food.

  6. The bored billionaire syndrome. The guy is loaded, then decides why have pet dogs on my property, when I can invent a helmet that will allow me to control tigers. The billionaire and his helmet making crew get ripped apart by tigers because the mind control helmet they made didn't work. The only thing I can say is, fuck em.

  7. If he can convince people to spend boatloads for his diy titanic AND sign a waiver saying he won't be responsible if they died, I can convince them to buy some AI crap I make some day.
    THATS the motivation I needed.
