I suspect Adams knows his time in Democrat politics is done.. So as a practical matter, the Republicans offered him an offer that was hard to refuse – Run as an independent on this revenge tour, get bankrolled by us (otherwise his future earnings were also suspect), and we'll dismiss with prejudice. Perhaps you can fully transform later, but no biggie if you don't.
