New Mazda “Roller” Edition. Rolling Through the Median..

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, I am called out to a single passenger vehicle crash on the Interstate 55. It was reported the vehicle was in the median. No big deal…right? Until I get there and find out that it’s not just in the median. The vehicle is between guardrails on one side and guide cables on the other side. AND, the vehicle has rolled several times approximately 200 feet from the end of the guardrail. It’s just me and the Peterbilt Century LCG12 rollback (tilt tray). Scratching my head here. Do I can in for help? Can I get it with what I have on-hand? We will find out. Here we go!!! Watch and see!! ENJOY!!!

Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God’s blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!

My common analogy, “there are many ways to reach 10”. I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.

Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

  1. I've seen some guys mark the max on the synthetic rope at the fairlead with a few strands of bright cord like mason line or gutted paracord through the rope, but it occurred to me that it might be better to pull it out and mark it where the back edge of the deck is: that way you get some warning before you get to it, and it's easier to see from where you're going to be while you're pulling.

  2. wat kinda folks drive cars todays?
that thing is more like a dumptruck garbadge than a car.
i mean, ok i have some shit in my car to,, but even if you took it tru a tumbler run, it would not be as messay as this smal car,,,,i mean, come on folks,,,,
sorry i should not complain about personal stuff,,,,my bad…but annoys me

  3. We thought you were trying to push faster than the cable. I hope you didn't scratch that guardrail…God had to be holding on to the people in that car….Only Way.

  4. It seems that the Good Lord was taking care of the occupants of that car, Ron, especially in view of the aerial acrobatics the car performed on its final journey! Thanks be to Him that knows when even a sparrow falls. His Will be done. May he bless you and yours and keep you safe doing what can be dangerous work! 🙏 Amen.

  5. I can never make out why , at a vehicle smash with lots of blinking lights, other vehicles don't have to slow down !! Here, flashing lights it means slow down to 25 KM per hour. Greetings from Australia

  6. Ron, maybe you could have "stepped it off" and gotten an approximate distance, then hooked the extension to the car first. You would have had to spool off less line that way. 👍

  7. Another dime suggestion, grab an in-expensive duffel bag to flake the winch extension into. Lightweight, easy to store, and very fast to deploy with minimal tangling. Its how I store all my life safety rope and lines.

  8. "Murphy's Law of Towing"… "If the primary winch line is not long enough, the required extra length required to reach the casualty is inversly proportional to the shortest available extension you have on the truck"
If you'd had a 25 foot extension handy, the car would have come to rest an extra 27 feet down the median.

  9. being an old codger (got my DL March 1965) I can still remember how badly damaged the cars were after an accident so to see this car still in good shape after several roll overs is completely amazing

  10. Hey Ron, I want to say that I started watching your videos out of a kind of morbid interest in vehicle recovery after being a witness to a high speed rollover that didn’t end as well as this one. I stayed for your forthright and humble manner and all the evidence that you are one of the Good Guys.

The experience from viewers you’ve been sharing at the end of your videos give me even more hope for this fragile, flawed humanity. All of us have so much to be grateful for that we often take for granted, but the older I get the less I take for granted. Please keep sharing those messages. We need more Good Guys, and we need more gratitude.

  11. Highway crew should've made themselves more useful and removed that damaged guard rail to make it easier for you to recover the damaged vehicle out of the median.
