This was Tyson’s final climb to the summit of heavyweight boxing. Bruno was a legit fighter and huge, strong boxer with a questionable chin. But he fought Tyson hard to try to retain his belt. The next fight, the Bruce Seldon “fight” was simply sad, with Seldon clearly petrified and choosing to flop and take his payday and avoid a career-altering blow like Spinks took. Then, Tupac was tragically shot soon after. Tyson fought Holyfield bravely the next year, fighting dead even through 5 rounds before the accidental head butt. After that it was all Holyfield. We all know what happened in the rematch. But this night, Tyson felt that belt around his waist again after taking a beating from Buster and 3 years in prison. He was clearly emotional after the TKO of Bruno. He had made it back after 5 years.
He was looking more like Victor Buono.

Bruno wasnt phased until Tyson suck in that left elbow while Mills Lane was deducting a point for holding. I remember how frustrating this fight was to watch. Bruno kept holding. Who knows how that fight could've went without that elbow. Probably not a ko. It wouldve went the distance and Tyson winning by decision. And this is coming from a life long Iron Mike fan. After the 1st fight we saw Bruno wasnt afraid of any man. Not even Mike.
