I'm a physician assistant. Yesterday morning, around 5:30, I had hand and up to the middle of my forearm in the chest of a 70 year old woman who was hit by a car 10 minutes prior. Her face was peeled off, she had a ruptured aorta, broken bones in all 4 limbs and a skull fracture. I was wheeled into the OR with hand still in her chest. The surgeons took over, but sadly she died less than 6 minutes later. The driver was not on drugs or alcohol. He was sleep deprived and didn't see her in the roadway. This video really hit me hard after yesterday's events. For the love of God, PLEASE do not drive if you are impaired by ANYTHING. The driver will not be charged, but I am sure he will have a long road ahead of him emotionally and mentally. People need to take driving much more seriously. It is a dangerous, albeit more than common and very necessary daily activity, but dangerous nonetheless. Just felt like putting this out into the world. I hope at least one person reads this, remembers it, and decides to not drive one day should they be impaired by substance or extreme sleep deprivation.
You can’t convict someone of murder when all would’ve been avoided if she didn’t grab his vehicle and hold on. Sure he should’ve stayed on scene but I can almost guarantee that he didn’t intend to kill her. He was just trying to drive off. At the end of the day, lay off the meth and make better choices

So he was running away from her and she pursued him when he tried to flee. If this was gender reversed people would blame the man for grabbing onto the car. The "woman" in that scenario would be fleeing for her life. So maybe he should have gotten off from a deranged girlfriend. He tried to get away from her and she pursued him, leading to her own death. I don't think his life should be destroyed because of that.

Every single member of that jury should be ashamed of themselves. Probably just wanted to rush it and get it over with. Pathetic. That man is obviously a murderer.

That ride along is never gonna be a cop. Did you hear her disrespect toward the officers? She doesn’t know what a sergeant is, she doesn’t know what a detective is, she says top and little nerdy guy. This profession used to attract the best. When I was in college, I did a 6 credit internship with the city police, only 2 people out of the entire CJ, criminology programs were accepted, out of hundreds. We had to write detailed papers about each ride along every week. We weren’t allowed to ride along at night because it was too dangerous. Only from 6AM-11PM. This girl just annoyed me the way she was talking with a homocide there… like an ignorant, clueless girl. Why is she even there?
He was obviously using her to begin with. He should have gotten convicted with SOMETHING because this is pitiful. He gotta serve time. Geez.
