  1. If they did not realise the dog Riko, that situation would have turned out to be like hostage case. That man would have took that lady or the kids as hostages, it could have gotten worse results.

  2. Whew. Heart wrenching. The rookie did great. No choice. Good shoot and Riko is the hero. The Field Training Officer handled the stress so well and I'm glad to see a good outcome. Poor rookie, my heart was breaking for him. What a call. Good job everyone. Deb in Tex

  3. Chaos is what happens when the cops backoff of trying to stop a unstable driver, this never works and puts the PUBLIC in dangerous situations. They just seem inept during the whole video.

  4. Two of the most challenging moments were finding out there were children upstairs when the suspect was upstairs being shot at, and hearing that poor dog whimper the loudest whimpers over and over from being shot.

  5. As someone who has grown up around dogs and specifically all rescues I feel so bad for that officer because your dog is like your child and never deserves anything like that I’m so happy he was okay

  6. Dear Rook, if you ever read this…

First, thank you for your service.
Second, thank you for your care and concern for the K-9. You and Riko are the best things about this life, apart from the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Last, I pray for peace, protection, good health, and long life for you, your wife, and your families.

  7. That poor innocent family. Someone breaks into their house and a few minutes later he's dead from gunshot wounds at the bottom of the stairs. Everyone was so lucky that the kids stayed in their room because otherwise they could have caught a bullet from police or a knife if the guy had gone for them. Absolutely terrifying. I hope Riko has a peaceful retirement with lots of walks and treats.
