  1. Hey friends! Just adding some extra context since the intro didn’t fully explain what led up to this.

The day before the bodycam footage, a Community Service Officer found the suspect’s truck illegally parked near a school (which is why he later mentioned his truck had “broken down”). The CSO ran the plates, learned the registered owner was a convicted offender, and passed that information to police.

According to police, the same truck had also been reported near multiple other schools and a nearby park.

The teddy bear was in the truck during those sightings, so when officers went to follow up the next day, finding the truck again wasn’t difficult. It was parked within 500 feet of the same school where the original parking violation occurred.

In the footage shown here, the key issue is that he was staying at a residence within 500 feet of that same school, which violates his lifetime registration restrictions. He’s required to register any address where he stays, and staying that close to a school is not allowed.

I was going to redo the intro to explain this better, but YouTube gave me a hard time with the upload. Once it finally went green, I didn’t want to touch anything 😅 If you have any questions, let me know and I’ll try to answer.

  2. At first I thought he was getting arrested for just the teddy bear but his around a school that’s why and he knew his intentions his to grown to have a teddy bear in reality his trying to attract children looks like his not cured from his pedo disease he should be put on house arrest at this point.

  3. Timothy H. McKinney-Murphy, 42, of McHenry, (inset) was arrested after his vehicle was found parked near multiple schools, including Hawthorn Elementary School North in Vernon Hills, earlier this week in violation of his sex offender registration. Police arrested a child sexual predator after he was found on two occasions with a “giant teddy bear” on his truck that was parked outside of multiple schools in Vernon Hills.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Vukovich said the Vernon Hills Police Department was alerted on Monday to a pickup truck parked outside Hawthorn Elementary School North, 301 West Hawthorn Parkway.

The truck had a large teddy bear sticking out of the back of the pickup truck. The vehicle was parked where children enter and exit the school and remained parked there for 24 hours based on surveillance video, Vukovich said.

Vukovich said Timothy H. McKinney-Murphy, 42, of McHenry, was seen moving the truck after school started on Wednesday morning after school began and children were present.

Officers informed McKinney-Murphy, who is a registered child sexual predator, that he could not be present within the school zone and also told him to get rid of the teddy bear.McKinney-Murphy showed back up with the giant teddy bear still in the truck on Thursday, Vukovich said.

McKinney-Murphy admitted he stays at his girlfriend’s house for no more than 72 hours in a row and also said he sleeps over there often.

His girlfriend’s house is less than 500 feet from Hawthorn Elementary School North and Hawthorn Middle School North, Vukovich said.

Vukovich said it is also within 500 feet of the school grounds for John Powers Center, a SEDOL school, and Hawthorn School of Dual Language.

McKinney-Murphy has spent more than three aggregate nights at the girlfriend’s residence within the past year and has not registered as a temporary domicile as required by his registration requirements, Vukovich said.

Officers arrested McKinney-Murphy and transported him to a First Appearance Court hearing on Friday morning. He was charged with violation of the sex offender registration, five counts of child sex offender loitering and sexual predator loitering near a public park.

McKinney-Murphy told the judge that there were “inaccuracies” with the allegations represented in court.

State records show McKinney-Murphy was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old child when he was 16 in McHenry County. He is required to register as a sexual predator for life.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain McKinney-Murphy pending trial, arguing he poses a real and present danger to the community.

A public defender for McKinney-Murphy said his client was not loitering directly on the school grounds and was only going to his girlfriend’s home, which is on Washington Court.

McKinney-Murphy appeared for a detention hearing on Friday afternoon and Lake County Judge D. Christopher Lombardo granted the petition to hold him in the Lake County Jail.Lombardo noted that McKinney-Murphy has a prior history of violations and called the nature of the allegations “truly disturbing and concerning.”

McKinney-Murphy is scheduled to appear in court again on October 15 for a preliminary hearing.

  4. I did a deep dive into the mind when I was a child because a state trooper around the block from me was molesting his own daughters and then killed them and his wife when she found out before he offed himself. Sexual thoughts and preferences begin developing in utero. More people are born attracted to children than you think. It’s absolutely heart breaking because they know in their heart it’s wrong and a lot of people kill themselves over it. The ones that act upon it like this worthless sack of shit are the ones who embrace it and act upon it. Those guys know it’s wrong and don’t get help. They deserve every inch on their pain

  5. To the people bitching that he got McDs – if hes bing held for a while for questioning they hav to feed him. He's being questioned sat the Vernon Hills PD, which is 10 miles (probably 20 minutes) from lake county jail. Until he's booked in jail, he's their problem. I doubt the cop shop has a cafeteria to serve their 2 or 3 holding/interview rooms. Pretty common for police depoartments to just grab chow from a local restaurant to feed a defandant being questioned.
