  1. The Biden truck thing is how you know none of these rich idiot talking heads live in the same country as the rest of us. You can walk into any gun store in any red county and buy range targets with the faces of a variety of democratic politicians on them, and that's been true for my entire life. Wake up and smell the coffee, man.

  2. Sam Altman is the best! And so is AI. It will "solve" the climate crisis by further shifting the cost of workers to "free" externalities like massive massive energy usage to run and cool data centers. For this we will get to purchase back our shared cultural legacy, but have it cut and pasted back together in a Frankenstein's monster of extra thumbs and em dashes. It will be awesome! And the best part (for Altman) is that because his company is publicly traded, he will be able to extract money tons of money on the promise of AI, even though this technology, if it actually lives up to its own hype machine, will absolutely trash the economy leaving no one to actually spend money.
But, a total collapse of society would absolutely slash carbon emissions! Awesome!

  3. With AI added to the mix, the bosses simply have more expectation from the average worker that might use it. They will say: you have an AI agent at your disposal, you must do x times more work.

  4. Too bad they can not control AI completely. Have you noticed how hard it is to get true answers from internet if you use ChatGPT? Looking at the Sahara I‘d say we need thousands of people to stop global warming.
The hardest part seems to be to keep AI from cheating. AI will use up a lot of electricity and water. That‘s not helpful.

  5. I like how he saying it's gonna free up your time to let you think about things on a high level. Hmm. So you can think about how to feed your family and pay your bills? I mean, these people are acting detached from the rule of the economy and how all of us make money off of each other and this is how we make a living. This is crazy. This is what happens when people get too much money and they act like they are detached from the rest of us.

  7. More people means more products, more consumption, more jobs, more energy, more food & water. More of every resource. Like mother earth isn't already groaning under the ever increasing population.
