Old video I know, but Kotaku just released their "Best series of Star Wars" and listed The Acolyte as number 5 out of 15. It's higher rated than Kenobi, which sit at number 13 or 12. I am blocking that website, I'm angry
I think its interesting, but the last part where she kills him for no reason is pretty bad

Every single minute of the season could be amazing for all I care; they killed any interest with just that horrible scene.
Every single individual at Lucasfilm should be fired and replaced with people who love Star Wars and want to make good stuff, rather than alienating and pissing off the MASSIVE fan base, who just want good stories.
They've turned the Force and the Jedi into a joke. Like much of modern entertainment, they're demonizing heroes and celebrating villains by distorting the lines between good and evil (just look at what's been done to Batman and Joker lately—Injustice, anyone?). They’re rewriting and undermining the clear moral compass George Lucas established, all for the sake of some witches who supposedly wield the Force—sorry, 'the Thread'—better than the Jedi ever could. This show isn’t just a misstep; it’s a complete disgrace to the Star Wars legacy.

Its so stupid, because Disney bascially has everything they need: A huge universe with stories and material to utilize + an established audience that would come watch it if they made anything good. But coporate turds that they are, they just dont care. Like for example, give us a series about the old republic, make it gritty and dark (cuz not everything has to be for kids, i as an adult am willing to be indoctrinated too, if the content is good), make the action look like anime, like they did in clone wars, get some clone wars writers as well if you're already at it, take some inspiration from the 'the force unleashed games' to bring something new to the table, seeing the incredible Power of what the force can do in these games surely makes for some epic cinematics and so on. But they dont, because they dont care. Luckily i also dont care anymore. Disney made me.
I liked Solo too! I loved how he met Chewy. Also agree with you that the fighting was actually really cool in Acolyte. The rest was really, really dumb.
Was your opinion that The Book of Boba Fett the worst series because you had actual EXPECTATIONS for it (and Boba Fett) while for The Acolyte you were NOT emotionally invested in the series other than because it was part of the SW IP?

my favorite thing about star wars is that there are only 6 canon movies and 0 shows. It would really suck if someone else bought the IP and tried to milk it for everything its worth on a shitty streaming service

Also, I know everyone was really mad about that fire scene, and I hated it (along with the rest of the show) too, but to be somewhat fair to them…. it did look like there was a 'flammable' symbol/rune on the book (which honestly felt even more hokey), but I think it was a magic kindling book or some shit & that's why everything went up so quick. 🤣😆
I'm with you on Han Solo, I feel like if they tied continued with it/the Darth Maul plot they were setting up, it was going to be AMAZING!!! Lucasfilm's misjudgement/snap overreaction to the Han Solo reaction also cost us an AMAZING Kenobi trilogy script, if you ever saw what the script was supposed to be before they changed it for the TV show. 💯

I don't want to watch propaganda films from the 40s, and I don't want it in my my films and movies I watch from today. I'm pretty sure im not the minority in this thinking either. It's simple. Make something good and actually try, and it'll do well. It's not rocket surgery. The proof is in the results. The show got shit canned. It sucked. Nothing more, nothing less.

The first episode of Boba Fett was good, establishing a connection to the Tuskans. The episodes with Mando weren’t bad if they were on a Mando show. Cad Bane could have been used better, but the ending episode was ok.
Ackolyte was confusing and terrible. Ashoka was just awful. Those are the worst Star Wars shows by far.
Star Wars is so lame. It is the McDonalds of Sci Fi.
