  1. Dad and I got covid from a home health care worker on 9/1/2021. We both fell and broke joints, hip and shoulder respectively and had surgeries. I was hospitalized for 25 days. Had to learn to walk again in rehab. I was in bed sleeping all the time till mid Dec when I went back to work part time 4 hours /day. Joined a long covid clinic.

In 2022 I increased to 5 and then 6 hours work a day. Was terribly deconditioned. Broke a sweat after any movements. I walked very slowly.

The first shoulder surgery while in hospital was a failure and left me with a flail arm. After 18 mo PT, it became clear I needed a redo on the hemiarthroplastic surgery. This time I got a reverse arthroplastic surgery, April 25, 2022. Turns out the first shoulder appliance was loose, bone from first surgery floating in my shoulder and rotator cuffs not attached and repair to protuberance was able to be done. I was able lift my arm higher two weeks after 2nd surgery than the entire time after first surgery. Took 3 mo unpaid leave to recover from 2nd shoulder surgery. Was able to go back to work full time after the 3 mo recovery.

2 years, 5 mo later, long covid is still with me and slowly ebbing away. I'm still going to bed after work and staying in bed till either Dr appt or work. My work schedule is accommodated to work a late schedule. I've gone from being allowed to lift 0lb to 2lb to 5lb in past 10 mo. I can walk fast again but have difficulty walking up stairs. I am resuming my ability to shop at more than groceries and do more than one thing in house a day.

I was unemployed Sept-midDec 2021 (COVID), 3 mo in April 2023 (Reverse shoulder surgery) and 2 weeks in December 2023 (after Dad died), and other wise was part time Dec 2021 to April 2023. That has had a devastating effect on my finances. Was able to get covid mortgage forbearance and retire my credit cards. I'm back to a full paycheck now and working with bank to modify my mortgage to a forty year loan.

Yes, long covid does get at my weaknesses..lateness, anxiety, getting enough sleep, and getting active without breaking out in a sweat. Minor dyslexia is becoming more noticeable. I should get tested, but am having trouble finding someone who does this.

I've asked for ADA accommodations and the current administration doesn't see fit to continue accommodations I was granted for a number of neurodivergent conditions in 2017. After ignoring two requests, they finally came up with a solution that subjects me to potential discipline for lateness. I called ADA. They told me to discuss accommodations with askJAN and to file a complaint with EEOC.

I find playing brain games has helped a great deal. Lumosity, and also traditional games like wordle, backgammon, block puzzle, minesweeper, gin rummy, Yatzy match, Find differences, Mahjong, and Jigsaw pro. When I restarted Lumosity in 2022 my thinking was very slow, score around 700-900. Now at a score of 1390 I'm almost up to the high score of 1445 that I had reached when I played it in 2018. I can feel the difference.

  2. Happy to hear Netherlands making progress.. here in USA, it is suppressed.. fauci lied when he said "if I get the vaccine u won get COVID".. the world needs to realize it is NOT A VACCINE, it is a live virus injected into yr body.. pres Biden put in 6million for RECOVER program is useless. They just argue about what to study, and do nothing..the WHO had a conference , no one masked , 180 got COVID ..I'm 3years in, pre med, see 10 drs..none understand what I'm talking about..Boston mass general using nad+, berberine, choline, up salt, use nicotine patch , etc..praying for all of us🙏❤️

  3. I also got sick 6 weeks later after catching covid. I now have supraventricular tachycardia and are on beta blockers now. I have check pain and palpitations every day. I have good and bad days. My heart has mostly been effected.

  4. Hello.
What about AI, that will remove about 40 % of all jobs. And there is more young people that work, than a bit older people, because of better health in young people. And it is the young people who is most affected by Long Covid, and the damage by the Corona vaccinations.
    God Bless you

  5. The only people Iknow who have looooong covid are fully vaccinated. A friend, my step brother and daughter all have a type of fibromyalgia. Our friend and step brother have been told by their doctors they have loooong covid. It's absolute bollocks.

  6. I have news for you! I recently discovered I have long Covid symptoms in spite of never having Covid. was caused by the vaccine, an adenovirus vaccine that almost killed me. Extreme fatigue , rhinitis, brain fog, balance problems, small bruises that have gone away. Tons of tests, everything normal. I’m on my third year. Some Progress but not normal yet.

  7. The onset of my symptoms was Nov 2019, when it is now known Covid had struck North America. In retrospect, the symptoms were milder relative to other victims, but suddenly profound at times. No pneumonia, but great, overcoming exhaustion upon an otherwise very healthy guy. Cough and especially pounding heart palpitations. Only the fatigue remains here in 2023. If any one lesson is to be gained, it is the utter feckless GP's in the industry.

  8. Yep and us ME/CFS Patients felt like we were going to die for years too. Had it for 30 years. People having terrible time with long covid for 1 or 2 years now. Imagine 30 years. You couldn't see us but we were there all before covid. Hopefully help for all now. Doesn't feel too good to be told it's just anxiety or in your head…right? Lesson learned hopefully. Everyone deserves mercy.

  9. I have to Covid-19 vaccine about 3 years ago, within 3 weeks of the first & only shot of this vaccine I experienced some pretty awful Side effects ranging from Hives to swollen limbs face to what I can only describe as a Micro stroke.
I also from time to time experience excruciating headaches and extreme case of Inflammation where my entire Body burns within the bone outward & no matter what I take to alleviate the pain, nothing works.
I do have issues with Chronic inflammation prior t0 receiving the Pfizer vaccine that is unrelated to Covid or the vaccine.
Since then I have been getting sicker & sicker without any end & despite my efforts to talk to my Physician & an immunologist who diagnosed me with Cytokine Release Syndrome I have been unsuccessful at getting treatment or any assistance what so ever.
I had a miserable experience with a public health Nurse when I reported these side effects & He ended up yelling at me & stating that my symptoms couldn't be possible that later after having the one & only injection vaccine.
I am at my wits end with the healthcare system itself as a whole. Its like I have been shunned away & no resource to help me through all this. My Family is as useless as the medical system for support & I really don't know what to do about it now.
Currently I experience chronic fatigue, I rarely go out now for fear of infection which I am currently getting over for covid, & I simply cannot walk past 1 city block without exasperation & due to a hip displacement.
I am chronically coughing & spitting up fluids & forget doing housework.

  10. Long covid def makes the historical and present day gaslighting built into medicine rly clear… like there’s a variation on somatic issues to explain literally everything, at this point I could lose body parts and drs would attribute it to repressed emotions using some well established diagnosis that seems to be built for these exact situations. Long covid bein treated like mass hysteria but isolating ppl with individualized versions so it’s harder to call out at a higher level… Hopefully the large number of ppl with chronic illness/disability helps challenge this approach overall.

  11. 13:54 BINGO. This happened to me two years ago, I was told to get on psychiatric medications for the only two panics I suffered in my entire life. Just because I didn't test myself for covid as I only had mild headaches and a light fever. The doctors at the time didn't bother recommending tests instead were pushing hard for the jab. And I continue to suffer agoraphobia since working from home. Sad part is this could be long covid!

  12. I got SARS in 2007 was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia two years later after being a new regular at GPs aftermath flu . Now I'm Covid effected but it my husband who now after we got Covid, sounds like he's Suffering with Fibromyalgia… Long covid identical . 👍

  13. I want to know what proportion of people with long covid are still covid positive after just a single infection, but don't have all the original symptoms (just a few).?

  14. I am 40 years old, was very active prior to Covid. I ate healthy and exercised regularly. I got Covid in August 22. I had the typical lethargy, night sweats/chills, etc. I recovered within a week and went back to work. Fast forward several months later and out of nowhere I developed rampant insomnia, anxiety, bouts of depression, etc. My skin condition (Icthoysis) worsened so severely my friends commented that they (or I for that matter) had never seen it that bad. Those symptoms paled in comparison to the shortness of breath and pulmonary hypertension. Here we are halfway through Dec and I am still on meds to help me sleep (insomnia is crippling my productivity) and I am STILL experiencing many if not all of the same symptoms with no end in sight. This "thing" is life altering!
