I hate to say it but the players of today would have absolutely destroyed the players of the 70s and the 80s..The equipment got a lit better by say 1983 or so , wood raquests were basically over then and graphite and other composite raquets were on the scene , metal too.. like Prince, they had all kinds of new stuff .. They had the first Boron raquet I think.. But the talent today, is just higher than it was then.. They train better, they are in better condition, strength and stamina too.. John McEnroe was great but I think he would get destroyed by Roger Federer
