Okay, that's enlightening. But can anyone explain to me pls why not record some of these on-stage. while filming it? I mean they record actors voices and all, but can't take the sound of a lion scratching a carpet?

Having done some foley work for a friend's video I can confirm that rubber gloves are great bird and bat wings.
Ive never seen a 5,000 pound horse lol.

I'm so glad he considered the weight of the horses in creating the foley for True Grit! It's one of my favourite things about watching a horse run; that thundering through the ground. With how important horses are to the setting and story of that film, it's good to achieve thet kind of detail. It sounds wonderful!

Why do they still need to make these noises? Shouldn’t they have enough recordings made during the last 70 years of film making? Is there any noise in the world that hasn‘t already been recorded? 🤔
