He kept asking what he was being arrested for because he wanted to hear them say "murder".
There are several psychological reasons why he might need to hear it validated.
Could be guilt, it could also be that he feels detached from the crime and needs to make it real in his head before his mind can process it. I think it's the latter for this guy. People who commit crimes like this usually expect some kind of big response, they expect it to be a big dramatic event with search dogs and helicopters and police chases. When they just go home and it's a normal mundane night/morning they freak out more.
20 years is not enough.
My sympathies to the parents. I cannot even begin to imagine the loss they still feel. What a totally pointless tragedy committed by absolute wretched cowards.
