  1. If the power nap is leaving you groggy, then it's too long of a nap. If all the other stuff is accounted for and you have the time, then try just lying down for 10 minutes. You will feel better.

  2. One bit of advice from a 45 year old dad of two sons (4 and 9). Try playing with your kids by emulating what they do. Try do it as an official "play time" and just try to copy what your child is doing. Running, jumping, rolling, fighting, squatting, lifting… You'll have it all. I feel that after that kind of exercise I am way more exhausted and beat than after a gym or hiit workout. And it is fun and it brings you closer to your kids.

  3. And this is why I am subscribed to you and none of the other exercise youtubers. Sure I may watch a video or two of theirs but its the Bioneer that I look forward to learning and being motivated by. You really understand the people.

  4. Everyone who watches Hamza knows exactly the point of this video. These gurus will tell you family is the most importan thing, then dump women for "work" and meditation and stuff and after that get into another doomed relationship, lost young men

  5. Great video! I'm a parent as well and I only really have time for about 30-40 minutes per day, but I get as much out of them as I can and do some little things throughout the day as you mention. You gave some tips I hadn't thought of as well, thanks!

  6. I wish I'd seen a video like this 5 years ago before my son was born. Every word rings true. I really struggled to get any exercise in over the first year as he was a terrible sleeper. Had I adapted my routine as you suggest I could have at least got a bit of exercise in. Now he sleeps beter and routine is easier life is pretty sweet. I love the way you structure your training and it's definitely an approach that works for me. I like variety, kettlebells one day, sand bag the next, club bells the next then Bulgarian bag, then dumbells, then body weight. I feel much more prepared for any scenario. Plus dad strength is all true.

  7. Being a dad has inspired me to be physically and mentally the best I can. I am stronger and sharper then I have ever been so I can set a good example for my son and future children. It's such a joy.

  8. Excellent video Adam, albeit that I'm 6 months late. I totally agree with your perspective on parenting (I'm also one). I think I heard something similar from Simon Linker of Shredded Sports Science who suggested that people have to adapt their training based on what is going on in their lives. Even the genuine YouTubers focus on the "ideal" way to train, without factoring in any of life's other challenges. Keep up the good work!!

  9. I have two daughters the youngest is almost 4 years old but both have mostly slept through the night from the start. now me and my wife are both sleeplovers (which might have spilled over) but getting children to sleep early and soundly through the night is to make sure you have routine for your kids get to bed same time every day and have a bed time ritual. brush their teeth and take your time, let them do it themselves and do it for them afterwards, take time reading to them and sing a song or 5. stay in the room while they fall asleep (at least till age 2) let them sleep in your room so at night they feel you being around (they hear you turn and breath/snore in the night) and its soothing to them. we all want them to have their own room from baby on but thats not that great for them they want to feel close to you, not seperated. make them feel secure and close to their caregivers. it will also give them the ability to be alone at a little older age. I could leave them alone in a room for quite a long time (doing yard work while she was inside for example, while still being able to hear her) without them getting upset or destroy things or whatever they were just playing and enjoying themselves alone with their immagination (which is awesome for kids).

  10. I'm watching this while letting my daughter play. Both eyes on her, one ear at the phone, always ready. Training when I start/finish my way to work, writing in every free 5min of the day and the nights after she wakes up for her milk bottle (is this right in english?). I develop more dad strength than my former calisthenics, but who would've thought? Becoming a parent has freed me from so much worthless, aimless hobbies, it's awesome how strong and productive you can get when you have to. Because at the end, I want to be her idol, to gibe her the right principles in life. And best way is to live it yourself.

  11. I am a parent my self. Children can help you focus a lot, but it's a great risk, especially if your partner turns out to not understand how to work as a team. My best advice would be to start your family only when you have a solid unshakeable ground prepared for it (including your personal development, financial, but most importantly, psychological).

  12. I'm not even a parent and the routines suggested by some people on youtube wouldn't work for me. I can't imagine what it's like for parents.
One of the many reasons why I follow this channel is because it focuses on the important things instead of trying to convince 20 year old guys that they can get a girlfriend if they learn how to do a muscle up

  13. I feel so validated, I wish I had seen these videos when my daughter was a baby. I have more freedom now that she is 8 but that cute little morning routine and getting 8 full hours still is barely a thing. Turns out I'm not a failure, I've just been aiming for impossible standards

  14. im much like you, i try to consume a lot of fitness and self improvement YT as i can as i try to learn, im very fit, and im very strong, i do 100 pushups a day, and around 50 pullups a day, i also do stuff like thrill of the fight and beat saber on my quest 2… trouble is, im at that awkward age, im 61, and for instance if i ate the calories' these fitness channels tell me to eat, i would be 20 stone in a month, and when you are my age, 8 hours of sleep just feels like im sleeping my life away, and top of that i have a disbled teenager, so im lifting him all the time, and some days i get 4 hours sleep. Easy Burnout is a real thing for people like me. this is one the reasons i love this channel… you get it….. the trick is to section your life off, departmentalize sort of thing

  15. As a parent of young children who is trying to better myself mentally and physically, this video speaks to me. Thank you rationalizing nearly every thought I've had on these matters in the last few years. Keep it coming.

  16. I appreciate this video so much. I just had my first baby a month ago and I’ve been struggling with balancing goals, family, me time, sleep, and training. I’ve spent the last month learning that what is optimal is not always realistic and that is okay

  17. Watching this whiles making my breakfast, lunch and having a silent minute before my wife and two young children wake up….as a (very minor) YouTube creator, who is a health conscious, working parent, this resonated with me. Everything you said is great. It is certainly more challenging to find time to exercise, but just getting started was the key for me. Something is obviously better than nothing (like your 10 minute workouts) and more often than not the starting will provoke a more detailed or different workout.

  18. Great video and can fully relate. This is the best video I’ve seen for a new Dad, mine is 11 months old and I beat myself up for not getting up at 5am to cram the 2 workouts a day, stretching and dog walking in before work. Dad is the best job in the world ❤

  19. I'm new the The Bioneer channel but I love it. So much great advice and the functionality training is just what I needed to get me reinvigorated.
Plus my 5yo can join in with many of the exercises.
I'm am a parent who refuses to have the dad bod and my wee boy thinks we are superheros in training.
He is Batman & I'm the Arrow 😁😁🤣

  20. Dude Adam, wow, this meant so much to me to hear. I've been searching for years to find a solid fitness source out there that's geared towards parents and I haven't been able to do it. Although I knew about your channel somehow I didn't catch on to the fact that you were a parent. The fact that you broke this information down, which was the inspiration for me starting my own channel, is massive and so encouraging! It's super awesome to hear from someone further down the fitness road then myself how this works with kids. I knew it can be done, and I've done it, but I'm always looking for new ways to optimize and it was really encouraging to hear you give your own take on this, especially the sleep portion! Sleep has been one of the biggest struggles I've had and I couldn't find anyone talking about it when I first started trying to build muscle. Do you have a subscriber for life now! All the best to you

  21. What a fantastic video! Definitely something not covered at all in the fitness space. It is a fact I have noticed as I try implementing things in my life that just dont fit from normal fitness videos.

  22. OH my gosh yes!!! Dude this is sooooo true. I have 4 kids and I wouldn't trade it for the world but it does change how I approach life. I have found that the biggest things that have helped is prioritizing my workouts to the most effective exercises, doing full body workouts, finding a little bit of time for myself in the morning, and making a list of the MOST important things that I need to get done. The "routine" is ALWAYS changing but it makes life fun and challenging.

HAHAHA yess! My 3 year old does the same thing wiping his butt and then putting his hands everywhere. I can laugh about it right now.

Wow thanks so much for this. I appreciate hearing from someone feeling the same thing that I have for years.

    All the best!

  23. You’re married to a woman named Hannah, I’m currently in a relationship with a woman named Hannah and she is ALSO not impressed by muscles or traditional markers of success. Insane how the world works. Much love!

  24. Almost every day, me and my wife take a walk with our child in the stroller and we go to the same place, which is street workout station in the nearby park. Our kid really enjoys watching his parents jumping and hanging on bars like monkeys. So he gets some entertainment, we get a good workout and everybody's happy. 😀 This channel has been a great inspiration which helped me come up with better and better exercises. Thank you for all the work you are doing. It is the absolute greatest channel on youtube that I have ever seen. Seems like you really 'did both'. 😀
