I think the closest to the internet is some very primitive "darpa" like network, but I don't know if the military uses it at all. Seemingly the US states outsourced so much of their tech development to the private sector that it took them an additional 100 or so years to even get the primitive networking capabilities that Vault-Tec has in the games. I quite like the games as a critique of neoliberalism and capitalism for these reasons, the stagnation of technology.
I demand a spinoff for a prequel about the ghoul!
Technically yes the fallout ghouls are immortal but in the sense that they don’t die of old age they can still be killed by conventional means it’s like Helios’s cattle in the odyssey they don’t age but can be slaughtered
I've played all the fallout games several times and I don't recall ever seeing a child ghoul.
