  1. I had a friend who had a Wii U and I was very curious about it. I asked him a bunch of questions about it and it wasn’t long before I realized that it wasn’t worth it. I kinda wished I did get one so that I could experience Nintendo Land and the Virtual Console on a TV, but it wouldn’t have lasted really long in my household anyway.

  2. As a kid, I owned a Jaguar. It was fun. I enjoyed it.

What pissed me off is how my dad kept it secret, even told us kids not to talk about it. He was worried we'd say something like "I bet you wish you owned one of these huh?" And make someone feel bad.

A number of months later, a kid invited me to play his N64 and said "Bet you wish you had one of these, huh?"

And…that pissed me off, because… well… I obviously wouldn't have been THAT jerk. But, I let it roll off my back.

There was never any point where hype was generated around the Jaguar. And that was disapointing.

We eventually got our hands on most of the games that came out on the thing. It was disapointing that more never came out.

We never got the N64. But near the end of the Playstation's life cycle, I worked my butt off and bought a second hand Playstation with Metal Gear Solid.

    That was dope.

  3. Wonder how Atari, Xbox and Steam will work out. Now gaming seems to be fixed only on PC, PlayStation or switch. Almost all of the hardware have similar specs so it's about cloud gaming, which library you like to hang around.

  4. I somehow had a saturn, i think my dads friend gave it to us, didnt have many games for it but i still love command and conquer, panzer dragoon and road rash for the Saturn

  5. Still have my old Virtual Boy although the stand broke and was thrown out years ago, now if I want to play it for the nostalgia I sit cross legged in front of a chair, set it on the seat, and lean forward into it. It was marketed incorrectly, the problem is Nintendo tried to sell it like the next big console, and as a portable. But it was neither a console nor portable. It was more of a proof of concept than anything. I'm not sure what the target market was supposed to be, but it wasn't a bad product in and of itself. You just have to be aware of what you're getting. A 3D seated experience with what amount to Game Boy graphics.

  6. The CDi was not ALL bad. Firstly there were some genuinely good games (7th Guest, Lil Devil, sports titles, tons of kids games) and I've also never seen a console with so many controller options. My brother in law could share photographs on the TV (this was mind-blowing at the time) then we could easily swivel to an 8 player family game of Trivial Pursuit. My little nephew could then hook up this ridiculously huge kids controller and play through countless learning, Sesame Street etc games.

I don't remember the name of the soccer game I used to play when I'd visit, but it was a noticeable step above. As was the good game that seemed photoreal at the time.

Worth $700? 😂Nooooo! Has some of the worst games ever? Yeah, it does. Half as bad as the internet likes to claim? Not from the 300+ hours I spent with it.

And again, there were tons of controllers, it's disingenuous to say it has the worst controller ever. That first one you showed? That's not even the one that shipped with the system.
