  1. I don’t drink alcohol a lot, but I drink at least once a month now, if you’re over drinking yourself, yeah it’s gonna be bad for you like anything else like food do you drink too much water you’re gonna drown you got and drawn your liver you drink a gallon of water I guarantee you’ll die from that you’ll die from anything you could die from a car crash tomorrow. Should you eat too much food guess what you get fat and it’s bad for you. I look on here to see if anybody has anything good to talk about alcohol. It’s always all bad. My uncle died from alcohol, but he drank constantly from daylight to dark to dark daylight. Everything can poisoning you it’s moderation.

  2. I started drinking in 2016 with once in 2 weeks. Me and a friend used to drink 180 ml of whiskey each once in 2 weeks. But then by 2017-18 my work pressure increased and I started stopping at a nearest bar to my home and have a couple of whiskey pegs or beer pints. Soon it became a way of life. But still I was restricted to once or twice a week. Then Covid came and I didn't drink much of 2020. When bars reopened, i started drinking again. 3-4 beers every Friday. My drinking peaked in 2023 and 2024. I started sneaking out of the house 1-2 times a week to have a quarter of vodka. In 2025, one of my friends had an angioplasty. That was the day I decided to test if I really am having alcohol dependency or what. What happens if I don't drink for a month. NOTHING HAPPENED. Seems I had conviced my mind that I need alcohol because of stress around me and that today I deserve alcohol, and that anyone in this circumstances would drink a quarter a two today. But I was wrong. If you overcome that moment of urge towards alcohol, maybe on Friday night or when you are alone at home, you don't need alcohol. Just enjoy being fit and clean and more focus at work. Drink a couple of beers once in 2 months with friends and then tell yourself next drink is 2 months away. Not in upcoming weeks. And you will be fine. Embrace weekly alcohol and you sacrifice so much of a great energy that you can use to earn money make others smile and follow your hobies.

  3. Ethanol is ethanol, but as a brewer it's worth noting there are high alcohols (fusels) associated with higher ABV fermentations that aren't distilled, and beer can contain precipitous amounts of acetaldehyde, which is a metabolic step for etchanol in the liver, which adds poison on top of the ABV. It has a distinct green apple skin smell. Bud/Miller/Coors Lite are examples of beers that feature small amounts of this.

  4. i know my self. when i go out and i drink one or two i'm having to much of a blast and keep drinking until morning hours… thats why i quit altogether… if your like me reading this comment, No, don't do it, don't listen to this devilish voice talking you over to go to the bar and get hammered …

  5. After reading Outlive I instituted the 2-2-7 rule: never more than two drinks per day; never drink more than two days in a row; and never exceed more than 7 drinks in a week. At first this seemed pretty tough, but it gets easier when you get out of the habit of having a beer or glass of wine – or two – to unwind at the end of the day. Rather, start looking at alcohol as more of a social thing, something to enjoy with other people.

  6. This is where i ended, after drinking 0 for years. I was never a heavy drinker or Had problems, Just discomfort Like with every overindulgence.
Christ helps a lot. Usually Just water. If caffein then black or Green Tea. If Alkohol then beer or wine. Never more then two except there is a Family Party etc.
Just dont get trunk, Just relaxed.

  7. This is right on. Haven't had any alcohol from a long stretch. But have been thinking a few drinks per week is not a bad thing. The sleep info is right on. Make it 3-5 hour before sleep. I have found alcohol recks sleep like nothing else.

  8. I think there is no such thing as moderate drinking. Coz every alcoholic and those who have died from alcohol was a moderate drinker at some point in there lifes. People have to face stress and anxiety in life as they move forward and those who don't drink work it out and they better themselves. Meanwhile those who drink get's crumbled down to darkness coz alcohol doubles the problem and stress inside your head which slowly leads to addiction and full of negativity. I've been sober for couple of months now from dark journey of alcohol since 2019

  9. 17, I’ve had a lot of mental health issues in my life and I’ve found myself moving from one awful coping mechanism to another. The past year I’ve found myself binge drinking and getting completely wasted. I’m loosing the people I care about for it, say mean shit I don’t even remember and causing everyone stress and too look after me. I hate myself so much, I just want to learn how to be normal but now it feels like the damage is already done.

  10. The anti-alcohol movement seems to be in vogue these days. I think the kind of moderate consumption Attia is talking about here is a better approach for most non-addicts who enjoy alcohol. If you eat well, exercise, and have healthy relationships, and can tolerate alcohol, I don't think there's a need to be dogmatic about it.

  11. Many people consume beer as legit liquid nourishment, not for 'partying', especially when doing physically-laborious work, such as landscape work. Read up on the Egyptions. Read up on silica nutrition and beer. My favorite balanced beer is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale 5.6%, for lighter beers The Fall Oh Yeah 4.0%, Enegren 4.8% and 5.0%. Healthy for me, in moderation, not for 'partying',… just productive living. I usually drink beer during some workdays during the day, as the liquid refreshment, along with some water,… and some meat and/or eggs usually also during the day,… sometimes some veggies and fruit.

  12. What I can’t understand is all of these studies that say light alcohol to even moderate alcohol consumption increases your lifespan. Can anyone explain what I might be missing?

  13. Whats the point of even drinking if you drink so little you can't even tell you have drank? 1-2 beers? I would have to shot gun to tell I even drank alcohol…If you like the taste might as well just drink NA beers or wine!

  14. Yeah someone handed me a bud light and I drank it spit it out and shot the rest of the case with 5.56. I then grabbed a real beer and drank it. It was worth it.

  15. For somebody who's all about longevity Peter is really hell-bent on encouraging alcohol consumption. I find it rather nonsensical knowing what we know about the substance.
