Jeff, I know you’ve commented on this before but to what do you attribute the large number of hamstring injuries in sports today (the most recent being Tyrese Maxey of the Sixers and the more severe tear of Dak Prescott’s hamstring)? From following you all these years, I feel it has to do with an imbalance.

  2. what happened to the idea of explosively fast concentric to activate or stimulate fast twitch fibres, for strength and power, and slow eccentric, so if you were doing bar bell bench press as an example, you might be working with a load that did not shoot up like a rocket off your chest, but you were still trying to push it up as fast as you could and only the load was slowing the concentric… is that now outdated and proven to be wrong?

  3. I’ve been training back and chest like this for a while now, not to that degree of time but half of it. I love it. I’ll also do partials with slow eccentric or cheats with slow eccentric as the exercises allow. It’s quite enjoyable especially since I’m in my mid forties now and not maxing out every set and rep like an animal. Jeff, you’re number one, pal.
