  1. i got this game for 20$ and this may have altered my score here but i had an absolute blast with this game! so much fun to hack through, i find your review the most fair out of all the ones i have watched for the reason of the others seemed upset that you kill zombies in the zombie killing game like dude its dead island not the lord of the rings we arent here for the story we are here to bash zombies with a electric stripper pole

  2. Got the ultimate edition on sale for like 35 bucks and I gotta say for that price this game is an absolute gem 🤌 the gore system makes my inner psychopath wanna go full Art The Clown mode on these zombie hordes 😈

  3. To be honest, there aren't many games that I believe are worth 70 dollars or £60. When I bought the deluxe edition for Alan wake 2 I spent around £40 or something like that for it and it was a brand new copy. I spent around £50 for the deluxe edition of Black myth Wukong brand new, around £50 for silent hill brand new and I bought dead island 2 pre owned for £18. Most of my ps5 games cost me under £50 new and pre owned.

  4. Best zombie game out there in regards of gameplay.

The game's gore system (f.l.e.s.h) is the best gore system in a video game I've ever seen so far. It's all procedural and supported with realistic jiggle physics.

This game is not designed to waste your time like all the other open world games people play these days. The game is made of mini open maps that are fun to explore instead of a single soulless open world.

It's also the best looking game I've ever played. This is the most next gen looking game on Ps5 imo. Never thought a game would look this photorealistic.

The game also has really cool physics. It's a little buggy on objects but better than most of the AAA games.

Everything about this game is perfect! The only possible downside may be the story but It's OK for me. I liked the humorous tone.

    8.5/10

  5. 3:40 Good news, the game is on game pass no so any problems with value proposition are gone. The core gameplay still has a few issues but after playing through it, I'd say everyone fans of the genre should give it a try.

  6. I think the reason cloud gaming services keep failing, is that there's not a lot of overlap between:
-People who want to play videogames
-People who have a stable income to afford subscription services
-People who don't have an adequately powerful gaming PC

  7. It’s definitely worth installing through game pass. Me and friend installed it and ended up grinding it to the point where I ended up 100% the game. Yeah The story is pretty simple but it kept me interested and asking questions. The big this is the combat which feels so good like beating a zombie over the head with a makeshift sledgehammer never gets old.

Personally I like that the best upgrades are locked behind side quest because it rewards going the extra mile.

  8. Gave it a try a couple months ago. It's pretty awful ngl. The gameplay loop is stellar but the open world (if you can even call it that) and the characters are some of the worst since the Saints Row series.

  9. The game is simple but does well with its simpleness which is why I enjoy the game so much. Like mentioned, it does feel like that ps3, xbox360 era type of game and does feel like a breath of fresh air. It feels like that one game you pop in your console after a long day at school and want to wind down. Recent games now for me are a hit or miss but the campaign feels like a decent way to pass that time you have when you're bored. I do like to take my time as I love the environmental storytelling, the notes you find add some charm to the sections of the map that felt lived in prior. I enjoy it because it was simple, and I bought the Hel-LA collectors edition at $50 on sale. The artbook for the game that was recently released is also very awesome, I love the cover and the art they put in.

  10. Bought it on Steam at launch for 39 buckeroonies that had all the DLC for it (so far?) and I'm pretty happy with it. You make some good points about how it has some flaws. I'm presonally a little suprised that it didn't come with a new game+ to capitilise on that deeper zombie part farming and crafting stuff. But maybe later? Anyhoo it's fun for what it is. I think I like it more then Dying Light 2's mopey, messy and clumsy as hell story telling that doesn't really go anywhere. But DL2 has a lot of great strengths in gameplay too. Dead Island 2 just knows what it is and a what it wants to do almost from the get go.

  11. Not enough white men on the roster and with totally unnecessary female characters.

No thanks. Epic can keep their "diversity" while I'll keep my money.

  12. Dead Island 2 hit Game Pass and my fiancée and I are having an absolute blast with it, so much fun in coop. Just great moment to moment gameplay, funny moments, cool secrets and environmental storytelling, and no bloat or grinding. I do reccomend it.

  13. With it being put on game pass recently I’m definitely going to be giving it a try. Seems like a fun game that isn’t worth $70 but is definitely worth it if you have game pass.

  14. This game's absolutely not worth $70. Even something as simple as the fact it has raytracing but you can't even see your own reflection sums it up. So many shortcomings. Even the combat is a huge step down from the first with no option to use the right analogue to target specific body parts

  15. Gameplay wise, the combat feels too easy compared to Dying Light. But the game is full of characters and top tier voice acting. It's more of a casual zombie killing game. I find myself enjoying the story more than I enjoy fighting Z in this game.
