It's been silently going on for many years, and now it's so damn bad it's almost impossible to get any kind of comment to stick. And almost nobody on YouTube says a word about it, unless it's a superchatter who mentions how they had to alter their short comment. YouTube content creators didn't hold back when complaining about Twitter's censorship before Elon took over, even though YouTube's comment censorship is significantly worse right now. Why is that? Probably because they're not commenting on YouTube, thus they're not affected. There's also the additional reason being that their main income is made via YouTube, so there's more risk in complaining about YouTube doing it, as opposed to little to no risk in complaining when Twitter was doing it. (This is me just bitching generally, after having spent a significant amount of time on another comment that got censored. This observation has been boiling in me for many years.)
Altering spellings in comments does not work anymore. And good luck finding which words and word phrases are triggering the censorship algorithm, if you wrote a lengthy or detailed comment.

Stargate the movie, SG1 and SG Atlantis are among my favorites. But i agree, Babylon 5 is better. As is Person of Interest.
Person of Interest is a show that doesn't seem sci fi, at first. The introduction of AIs is subtle and believable even though the show is set "present time". Perhaps more believable because we see the personalities and intentions of the AIs through their interactions with each other, humans in general, and individual humans; and all that without trying to make the AIs appear human.
