Generally a brilliant defense of Trump's immigration policies. Just one minor historical note- the South seceded in peace, consistent with the spirit of the 2nd paragraph of the Declaration of Independence– seceding states were not attacking federal law enforcement like ICE or inciting violence against law enforcement officers. There is nothing in the Constitution, by the way, requiring states to stay in the Union. "Nullification" & "secession" comparisons from the 19th century are highly misleading. The South's main grievance was punitive levels of taxation, disproportionately advantaging Union states. If Lincoln had launched the war to free slaves, the Emancipation Proclamation wouldn't have excluded slaves in Union slave-owning states or in any territory controlled by Union troops. Other than that, Bravo, Stephen!
