I live here in Chicago (32 years) and I taught school for years in that neighborhood (Austin) and just blocks from this scene and intersection. Austin has always been a bad @$$ neighborhood.

Robbing someone so they don’t ever feel safe moving forward and then deliberately driving at the police officers with his car – yeah, not much to investigate there. POS low lives who chose their path in life and one died because of it. Better police training could have avoided the officer getting seriously injured. In texas police footage, they will pin the car with 2 to 3 police cars so that it's can't move. This was car boxed in.

Absolutely justified shooting by that officer! The perp hit the cop with his car and got what he deserved. He probably would have served only a little time in prison, if any, but he just had to hit at least two police officers. FAFO!!
